Many thanks to the installation of Malaysia’s new King, the 14th Yang di-Pertuan Agong, TODAY, Wednesday, 11 April 2012 that I have the luxury to sleep in, go to the gym, clean my pending list-to-do and update some blogposts!

This is a unique installation of Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah as the King for the SECOND time. This is the first time that a Sultan or Ruler has been re-elected as the Head of State since Malaysia gained independence in 1957.

If I had knew that German wines were so agreeable, I would have drank German wines more frequently.
The thing is, I have sampled many wines; especially during Wine for Asia 2012 in Singapore where there’s a buffet line of wines and all you are required to do is grab a glass, grab any bottle, pour, drink, then repeat.

It was an amazing experience and I left the wine fiesta with more compounded knowledge of wines in general; from its history to tasting to the process of wine making. But as we know, there’s no end to knowledge, and the same applies in any industry.

This session with Blue Nun was another invaluable experience. Blue Nun has officially launched “The New Blue” – a completely refreshed range of fruitier style wines with a striking new packaging design.

In other words, German wines has just gotten more funky 🙂

myiMart.com – My travel package to Taiwan booked!

Last month, I blogged about the newly-founded group buying site called myiMart which focuses on travel deals. You can read about it here: MyiMart – a new group buying site for the wanderlust.

When I went into the travel category on the website, I was swamped with so many selections of various travel packages. There was even a breakdown of sub-categories of Accommodation, Holiday, and Sightseeing to enable visitors to search for their desired packages more easily. I think that this actually proved to be a rather convenient feature on the site.

You would probably have noticed by now I have been a few times too many to The Pool, KL. This wasn’t necessary by choice, as this place is KL’s newest nightspot along Jalan Ampang. Yes, I refute all accusations of being a party animal. 😛

For the Orange Retro Funk Glenmorangie party last week, The Pool, KL was bathed in vibrant hues of vermillion, giving the place an edgy but funky look.

HP Folio13 Ultrabook, HP ENVY 14 Spectre @ the HP Consumer Product Launch 2012

It has been a busy year for the tech brands, especially with the recent wave of tablets, smartphones and ultrabooks. One tech brand after another launched their respective models, each competing for today’s finicky consumers’ favour and dollar.
One particular tech product that I followed closely is the ultrabooks. I have an ultrabook obsession and bought almost every single ultrabook there is in the market especially if there’s one offered with a media discount.

Here is moi with my Toshiba Protege Z830.

The first to launch was the Acer Aspire S3, of which I was an evangelist (“was” because the contract has ended since Jan) and I’m still a faithful user until today.
For RM2599, I thought the Acer S3 is superb value for money; even taking into account the annoying keyboard and the lack of SSD.

Shanghai Sunday Brunch at Shook! in Starhill Gallery – RM268++

The Masquerades Sunday Brunch at Shook! which started last year in November was fabulous. The set-up, the costumes, the fanfare of spectacular colours and projected personalities; it was such an amazing idea and offers an experience so entirely unique from anywhere else in Malaysia.

Bubbly and food flowed freely from 12.00 noon to 5.00 pm, the longest Sunday Bubbly Brunch yet in KL. For RM168++ (food only) and RM268++ with free-flow champagne, I thought it was value for money. Heck, make that VERY value for money.

To keep things fresh, Shook! has done it again but with a different theme; not any lesser in grandeur and even matching the impressive set-up of the Masquerade Sunday Brunch.
This time, Shook! takes us back to the opulence era of Shanghai, the captivating and historical city of China.
