From the bustling streets of Shinjuku we headed over to glitzy Ginza.

A mere 15 mins stroll away is the cosmopolitan Conrad Tokyo, one of Tokyo’s finest hotel. I was hosted for 2 nights here and finally had the chance to be cossetted within its walls.

The Hilton Tokyo has 816 rooms. In comparison the Conrad Tokyo has 290 rooms. The magnitude of Hilton Tokyo was lost on me due to the short period of stay, but for the Conrad, I had time to soak in the place.

Start of a healthy journey – Ephyra collagen drink & Nu Skin probiotics

I have been making a lot of changes to my diet and added on supplement intake a few months back after numerous unexplained bouts of illness. For a start I was more concerned with my gut, as I was having constant acid reflux and gastric attacks.

Long story short, I invested quite a few thousands for supplements and I’m currently taking multivitamins, probiotics and even a herbal weight loss formula, since my current obsession is better definition and tone for my body.

Upon rising from bed every morning I’ll gulp down ONE probiotic pill and a sachet of Ephyra mixed in 200 ml of water. Following that I’ll drink up to 500ml to 1 litre more of water, as I read somewhere that drinking a lot of water upon waking up and on an empty stomach supposedly flushes out toxins and whatever else more.

I first got acquainted with method products when I started using the bathroom set. Those worked fabulously and takes the agitation out of bathroom cleaning.
Following the “success” of the bathroom products, I switched my kitchen cleaning products to method as well.

Becky’s 1 Minute Summary:
What: Casual dining. Simple, humble flavours. Reminisces of Chinese/Indian food.
What to order here: Momos. A Thali set for the Nepalese experience. Pumpkin Lamb.
Overall experience: A uniquely Nepalese experience that everyone should try at least once, if not thrice! This is the place for a simple meal that’s reasonable priced and it’s not too foreign/exciting, since its flavours can be traced to Chinese/Indian food.
Price: Very reasonable for the quality and taste.

Nepalese cuisine.
At its core it’s unpretentious, humble food with simple flavours. It’s not likely to make to be as fancy or revered in the food world as French cuisine anytime soon, but Nepalese food has its own complexities and charm.
For one, the deceptively simple looking momos (dumplings) are delicious not by fluke but because of the careful use of mixture of spices, some directly imported from Nepal.

By the way, I can proudly say that I can make momos now! 😀

I still remember when Secret Recipe first started in Malaysia .
Their cheesecakes immediately took the town by storm. Everyone in the office gets a Secret Recipe cake for their birthdays.

Today Secret Recipe is 16 years old, celebrating its sweet sixteen with some sweet deals for all Malaysians.

The first is a “Buy 1 Free 1” cake deal.
In a collaboration with WeChat, this deal entitles the diner to buy 1 cake and claim another (similarly priced) for free.

Dave’s Bistro & Grill – 1 Utama : Pork, Pizza, Pasta & French/Italian cuisine

Becky’s 1 Minute Summary:
What: Casual dining but meticulously prepared recipes guaranteed to please.
What to order here: Usual favourites are the meats, pizzas and pastas. But do yourself a favour and venture beyond that.
Go for: Anything pork and the “off the menu” specials, which translates to delicious and creative dishes from Chef Darren Chin, winner of the ‘Best Sandwich in the World’. Start with the steamed pork buns followed by a soup before moving on to the mains.
Overall experience: 2 visits so far and both times I have not been disappointed. One was for a review session while another was on my own with some friends.
Price: You get what you pay for.

There has to be a reason when an outlet does really well, is packed practically every lunch and dinner and barely was there any negative remarks shared when I asked for feedback among my friends.

It’s been years since I last stepped into Dave’s. From my previous visits I remembered it as a very “American-kind” of place with heavy pasta, big portions, salads, soups. And yes pizzas.
My recent visit showed me how things has evolved here.
