Korean Air Aviation Facility Tour – Seoul, Korea – Asian On Air Program

Not many visitors to Seoul, South Korea would have the privilege to visit the Korean Air Aviation Facility. It is NOT a public attraction and it is a secured facility that allows no visitors without valid business reasons to enter. Those who enter on business visits are limited to the meeting rooms and offices.

We on the other hand, strolled around the facility like a boss, took pictures, played ‘cabin crew’, experienced some emergency mock-up situations and went close up with some of the Boeing planes in the hanger!

Korean Traditional Meal – Hanjeongsik in INSADONG CHON

The usual Korean trip itinerary consist of barbecue meats, shopping and some visits to theme parks/museums/palaces. Not many include a traditional Korean meal called Hanjeongsik.

After 3 trips to South Korea, I finally experienced Hanjeongsik, a full-course Korean meal with savoury side dishes. It is commonly served for the royals and aristocrats, where there are multiple courses and many dishes per course.
Types of dishes varies significantly according to seasons and regions but generally the meal starts with cold appetisers and gruel, followed by the main dishes which are either grilled, boiled, steamed, fried or salted.
Hot pots are included as well, and of course Korean liquor.

BELOW: 1st course: Clockwise from top left – fried fish in sweet sour sauce, cold noodles, raw fish, salad, cold pork belly, greens with a type of bean curd (tasted like vegetarian mock meat), japchae, sweet potato mash.
** The description I gave are general descriptions as it’s tedious to note the Korean names for each and every dish. Besides, we were really hungry!

Iron Chef Hiroyuki Sakai was last in Kuala Lumpur in 2011, for the opening of Ten Fine Dining restaurant in Solaris Dutamas. He was back again at Ten at Marc Residence recently, together with Japan’s No 1 Patissier Toshihiko Yoroizuka to present two dinners titled Two Masters of Heavenly Cuisine.

Seoul, Korea: Beauty, Fashion, Grooming, Spa and INHA International Medical Center tour

One can’t think of Korea without referring to Hallyu (Korean wave/Korean fever -love for Korean pop culture, or the appreciation of all things Korean) and of course, Korean pretty girls (should I say pretty boys too?).
Now, such beauty may be “engineered” or if you’re born pretty, it takes maintenance to preserve it.

Beauty/medical tourism is big in South Korea. Not just for the locals but also to many SEA citizens. Closer to home, Singaporeans are known to flock over to South Korea for their beauty procedures. Quality and safety are the primary factors and of course, price.

For my 3rd visit to South Korea this year (you can read about Busan and Jeju HERE), my task this time was to experience Korean Hallyu and SHOPPING. Oh my god, I thought I strike lottery when I saw the itinerary. LOL!

Our first “beauty/health” experience was the tour of INHA International Medical Center. And of course what’s a tour without some experience of the facilities right?
