Where to get the best Nyonya chang in Malaysia/Singapore?
Since Melaka is known for its nyonya food, is it understandable that anything with the label “nyonya” (which includes nyonya kuih and nyonya “chang/ glutinous rice dumplings are most sought-after here.
If you don’t already know, Nyonya glutinous rice dumpling is an entirely dissimilar variant to the regular Cantonese chang (or any other other rice dumplings for that matter).
It has its own distinctive flavour since it uses specific ingredients and spices.
In my opinion the addition of candied wintermelon is a must; since traditional recipes does and that’s what gave it the sweet-savoury element.
Sadly I find that it is usually omitted now. I don’t like the taste and smell myself but a bit does gives the nyonya chang its characteristic taste.

17th September 2015 It is the time of the year again for beer drinking, food paring that will surely make you lost count of your calories intake.
This Oktoberfest celebrate with Guinness Anchor Berhad (GAB), the leading beer and stout brewer in Malaysia. This year festive goers can expect GAB’s five premium brews including Heineken, Guinness(My personal favorite, because once you go black you never turn back.), Kilkenny, Kirin Ichiban and Paulaner.
I was in Ipoh for a week recently, researching on the best Ipoh dim sums, top Ipoh cafes and the Ipoh must-eats in this laidback yet lovely town.
Being an “out-of-towner” I had to seek hotel accommodations and for the purpose of my Ipoh guide, I chose to stay in 4 different hotels for the each night I was there.
The reason to experience staying in as many hotels as possible was so I’ll be able to recommend suitable accommodation in my Ipoh food guide.
Being blessed with acne-free skin had made me complacent for the better part of my twenties.
I do not follow any particular skincare regime nor stock up on expensive creams like some females (or even male) friends that I know.
Too lazy for make-up, I was satisfied with a bit of enhancement for my eyes; which was the lashes.
