Dreams Studio SS15, Subang – FLY YOGA, POLE DANCING AND BURLESQUE!

Just last Saturday was the official launch of DREAMS STUDIO in SS15 Subang & to commemorate the official opening, live performances of Fly Yoga, Pole Dancing and Burlesque were demonstrated.

**All videos taken with the Samsung HMX – Q10. It was my first time using it & I’m checking with Samsung on the sound issue.
Anyhow, pole dancers & Burlesque Christina Aguilera wannabes – look no further! Monthly classes of once a week is RM160.

AFC and E&O Kickstart the First-ever Asia-wide Reality Television Contest in Search for AFCʼs Next Celebrity Chef!!

Calling all food lovers and aspiring chefs!

For the first time in Asia, the Asian Food Channel (AFC) is conducting a region-wide search for Asiaʼs next Celebrity Chef through AFCʼs first ever reality television series called the “E&O Search for AFCʼs Next Celebrity Chef”.

Region-wide meaning they are seeking for contestants from across Asia & auditions will be held in 5 countries – Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Singapore.

Luxury lifestyle group Eastern & Oriental Berhad (E&O) will be the other partner for this inspiring reality show.

Both organisations will leverage their resources to put contestants through a gamut of culinary challenges that will test even the most seasoned chef or passionate foodie.

Firefly Trip 2011 – Sibu Night Market & Sibu Central Market, Sarawak

I started out my Sibu adventure post last week with my video on eating live, wriggly sago worms HERE– (Do watch it!) & in this post, I’m going show you both the night & morning markets that we have visited in Sibu.

On our first night, we toured the night market; which happened to be the only night market in Sibu town. Not unlike our night markets here in KL/Peninsular Malaysia, it has the usual stalls hawkering clothing, bags, accessories & household items.

Fasting month is drawing closer as days goes by. It is a month where the Muslims will fast from dawn to dusk, refraining themselves from eating & drinking for almost 13 hours each day for 30 days. It is said to teach Muslims about patience & humility.

As a non-muslim, fasting month for me means Ramadhan bazaars! And Ramadan buffets!! Food, food, glorious food everywhere!
Hotels are known to take advantage of this holy month to serve special buffets at special prices for everyone! This includes Hilton PJ. Check out what they have in store for you this year!

I’m so looking forward to the next coming weeks. I had my 1st taste of mooncakes for 2011 ( HERE) & just a few days back, I gorged on a full spread of Ramadan buffet at Dorsett Regency Hotel KL, right besides the Ritz Carlton on Jalan Imbi.

Oh yes, it’s that wonderful time of the year again!
30 days of holy fasting (for those who observe this practice), 30 days of raiding Ramadan bazaars all over town & 30 days of feasting on Ramadan buffets (if you can afford it!). Oh yea! *happy dance*

Mooncakes at West Lake Garden, Sunway Resorts Hotel & Spa

The Mid Autumn Festival is also known as the Chinese Moon Festival. It falls on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month, which is in the middle of autumn (in China) & for this year, that would be somewhere mid Sept 2011.

I remembered that mooncakes are usually sold about a month before the actual day, but now, or at least for this year, I noticed most hotels are already selling & taking orders for this traditional treat! And I had my FIRST mooncake of 2011 just last week courtesy of Sunway Resorts Hotel & Spa!

To be honest, I’m not a mooncake fan. And neither do I like rice dumplings. But when prepared well, I do enjoy both of these traditional delicacies, even up to the point of being addicted!

And I have certainly developed an addiction for some of the mooncakes available here at West Lake Garden Chinese Restaurant, especially so the Snow Skin Green Tea with Royal Milk Tea and Mocha Paste; a delightful creation that’s absolutely “bursting” with the aroma of tea. It first hits your palate with bitter-ish nuances from its outer green tea layer, followed by the creamy fragrant layer of milk tea reminiscent of our local favourite “teh tarik” (pulled tea) & then the familiar favourite of mocha ends it all on the perfect note. Oh, I’m certainly in love with this one!
