I haven’t been to New Zealand. The closest I get to “experiencing” New Zealand was eating a lot of kiwis, drinking New Zealand milk and consume New Zealand cheeses. That, and watching Lord of The Rings.
For the Grand Imperial group of restaurants I would normally patronise these 2 outlets. One was due to the proximity to my home and another due to the ease of parking on weekends. On Raya day this year, instead of lemang and ketupat, my friend Clifford treated me to some dim sum after our meeting.
I wasn’t complaining. I had always enjoyed my dim sum at Grand Imperial. And after 20 ramadan buffets, the thought of eating another lemang makes my stomach churn.
As an Asus Ultrabook user for 2 years I’ll readily recommend Asus whenever anyone asked me for notebook options. My Asus Ultrabook has never failed me though I’m not exactly the gentlest of users.
I travel often, I used it for 15 hours a day as my primary workhorse and I carry it wherever I go. And so far (touch wood!) it has been reliable with no lag in performance nor have I experienced any software issues.
After many many months of procrastination I’m finally slowly and surely doing my rounds of morning brunches.
A bit late yes, but heck there are better places for brunches now anyways! 😀
Other than the popular Antipodean, That Latte Place is superbly cosy and if dining outdoors is your thing. The Red Bean Bag is conveniently located within the artsy Publika and parking is a breeze on the weekends. One can continue to shop, browse within Publika or pick up some groceries in BIG after brunch.
All in all, weekend brunches are popular, so be forewarned that all the outlets mentioned above are packed on weekends and a 20-30 mins wait is expected.
In Bangsar, Nosh on Telawi 3 serves excellent brunch/breakfast. I would need another visit before posting about it so I’m heading there again soon. Meanwhile check out the Nutmeg Cafe, a pretty recent addition to the dining scene within Bangsar Village II.
It’s a floor above The Loaf and the most straightforward way to get here is to take the escalator from the front of The Loaf to one floor above, then look for ZARA or Haagen Dazs. The Nutmeg Cafe is visible once you see Haagen Dazs.

Oh, I’m so excited. I’ll be literally living off my luggage bags the whole month so guess what I did? I bought a new one! A nice big one! 🙂
Its not an everyday affair that one gets invited for tea with a CEO of a flourishing airline like Air Asia.
Baba Charlie Nyonya Kuih is a must if you’re visiting Melaka. Operating in a traditional wooden house located in a tiny alley opposite the Masjid Tengkera, the location may be easy to miss; but do look for the red “Baba Charlie” signage on Jalan Tengkera and that will help point you to the right direction.
If all else fail, there’s always GPS/Waze. That would certainly end all your navigational woes. 🙂
