Nasi Dagang, Nasi Kerabu, Laksam, Nasi Kerabu, Nasi Tumpang, lekor, ayam percik and the works. We get these easily enough in KL or PJ, at times in night markets and usually at some roadside stalls. More often than not, food is good and prices are cheap.

Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur is well known for its daily buffets at Essence, which I can attest is truly an excellent one for its price.
I’m a fan of Celestial Court for marvelous pork free dim sum and though I haven’t tried been to Villa Daniel in recent years, apparently it offers very good Italian cuisine. Meanwhile Toastina CafĂ© & Bar is a little deli that serves sandwiches, pies, pastries, coffee, tea and juices.
But many of us may not be aware of Pavilions Lounge, just a floor above from the lobby. Pavilions Lounge is open daily from 10am to 1am for a selection of light fare and hors d’oeurves. One can enjoy English afternoon tea with the premium tea brand, TWG tea on Mondays to Fridays from 2pm to 6pm.
Most food looks better than it tastes. I for one; had over the years, almost perfected the art of being able to determine if a dish is going to be good or otherwise just by looking at it.
When my Spicy Savoury Mince – RM23 was set down on the table in front of me my eyes widen and I felt as if I have finally hit the jackpot. Bloody hell, now that looks like how scrambled eggs should be! Has my search finally ended? Is this it? The best scrambled eggs in town?
After all that traveling I got home to one hell of a messy house! My luggage from previous trips wasn’t even unpacked yet, my souvenirs scattered all over the place and my fridge had quite a mountain of expired food!
But the first part of the house I tackled was the bathroom. Why?
Well, cos I have new products to try that’s why! 🙂
It is a fabulous period for epicureans, with FHM 2013, Culinary Sweden and then KL Restaurant Week 2013 and MIGF coming up next week.
Swedish food may be IKEA meatballs to some, but frankly there’s more to it. For those of us who are interested to find out more, GRAZE at KL Hilton is running a Swedish Food Promotion til 22nd September so how about a Swedish date with a loved one this weekend? 🙂

The lunch crowd streamed in for the signature chicken rice, satay and the impressive pandan chiffon with mango. Myself was there recently for the cooking demonstration of the Indonesia Master Chefs From Grand Hyatt Jakarta.
After Jeju island with Air Asia X, I barely caught my breath before packing off to Hong Kong where I ran and raced against 6 other teams from SEA to win the EscapersHK scavenger hunt. It was one of the most rushed media trip ever, with no rest days in HK at all.
Returning to KL for 2 days, I’m now in Langkawi for another resort review. This resort is gorgeous. In fact it’s more of a retreat than a resort; cosy, spacious, tranquil and homely.
