Seoul, Korea: Beauty, Fashion, Grooming, Spa and INHA International Medical Center tour
One can’t think of Korea without referring to Hallyu (Korean wave/Korean fever -love for Korean pop culture, or the appreciation of all things Korean) and of course, Korean pretty girls (should I say pretty boys too?).
Now, such beauty may be “engineered” or if you’re born pretty, it takes maintenance to preserve it.
Beauty/medical tourism is big in South Korea. Not just for the locals but also to many SEA citizens. Closer to home, Singaporeans are known to flock over to South Korea for their beauty procedures. Quality and safety are the primary factors and of course, price.
For my 3rd visit to South Korea this year (you can read about Busan and Jeju HERE), my task this time was to experience Korean Hallyu and SHOPPING. Oh my god, I thought I strike lottery when I saw the itinerary. LOL!
Our first “beauty/health” experience was the tour of INHA International Medical Center. And of course what’s a tour without some experience of the facilities right?

I don’t normally blog about clothing/shoes/bags cos I obviously don’t have the superb sense of style some fashion bloggers do – key word here being “some”.
For this post I’m making an exception because I’m really surprised on how the Sanuk Womens’ STEVIE fared during my 5 days of intensive walking in Korea. I usually put on my Nikes for this, but since it’s cold now, and I haven’t had a chance to wear as yet, I bought them along with me on this trip.
It helps that it is light, barely 1.5kg for both and the soft material makes packing easy. That, and the design is super chic too. The material is distressed, heavy canvas lace-up boot with custom textile tongue, frayed heel detail, and fleece lining.

Many consider me thin/slim and they scoffed at the idea that I may need some weight lost or reduction methods. However I know myself better.
I have problem thighs and big arms.
My regular exercises keeps me trim and fit but it doesn’t reduce the size of my limbs; specifically the thighs and arms. Spot reduction is long considered impossible; especially in the sports world.
However technologically it is POSSIBLE.
Sigh. Look at my thighs. Bloody huge.

I don’t change my hairstyle much. Most of the time it turned out disastrous so I had given up being adventurous after a few ugly incidents.
Besides my hair is pretty healthy and grows out quite nicely with natural waves at the tips. All in all, pretty acceptable and thus the lack of urgency on my end to shake things up.

Has it been that long that I had my Sanuk? I checked back on my post of the launch of their concept store in eCurve which was when I came home with a pair of simple, black Sanuk. I have been wearing it ever since and yes, these are comfortable alright!
Light and durable;that’s my verdict after a year and a half (March 2012 til now July 2013). It was like wearing layers of yoga mats put together, a bit spongy but so pleasant to walk around with, even for hours when I was shopping in Bangkok. It was a worthy replacement of my fabulous Crocs!
My Sanuk. A bit frayed here and there but still holding up to the abuse I put it through. 🙂
