Home Improvement: Knowing your house before making changes

Now back from Europe, I’m busy editing pictures and videos while stringing my thoughts together and drafting some masterpieces stories of my adventures in beautiful Paris, Amsterdam and Antwerp.
While that’s being sorted out, today I’m going to continue from my previous post, where I was yakking about tiles and house improvement/renovation stuffs.

I’m very happy with my new home, especially so the kitchen. Settled down a bit by now, I’m taking a serious look at my kitchen to fit a new oven and a proper storage space for flour and such.

I admit that even after 4 months since I’ve moved into my new house, my clothes are still unpacked because I still can’t afford a wardrobe! However, the other pieces of furniture are in place; my work space has been set up, and I’m saving up for an oven before a wardrobe. Yes, I’m crazy that way. :DD

Home Improvement: Working on the kitchen now. First up – TILES!

A few months ago, I made the decision to move out of my old apartment as I needed a bigger kitchen space which would open up new possibilities for me if I ever decide to venture into the baking business.

Early this year, I turned my thoughts into action, and finally moved into a new house!

When I first stepped foot into the house, I immediately noticed how the tiles were installed in each room.

Pierre Herme – Paris – Best Macarons and Pastries!

Hello and greetings from Europe!
If you don’t already know, I’m currently on my France (Paris) – Netherlands (Amsterdam) – Belgium (Antwerp) – 16th – 24th May 2012 escapade! :DD

Presently on my 4th day, I’m a bit exhausted but still thrilled with the new sights and experiences everyday. The 6 hours difference was only felt at night, especially around 8pm Amsterdam time (which is equivalent to Malaysian 2am). I just had to sleep after 8pm!

Anyhow, I transited via Paris and had one day to sight-see in this beautiful city. Ohhhh, I love Paris. It took a while for me to get my bearings, but I was lucky to meet a few kind souls who helped me as I moved around the city.

There’s much to share, but being a dessert lover, I had to share this first!
I had finally tasted the famous macarons from Pierre Herme! *jumps for joy*

Simply put, there’s no macarons in Malaysia that could came close to this. Not even the famous Nathalie’s or Le Deux Garcons Pâtisserie – Bangsar, both of which are acclaimed to be the most ” authentic” macarons outlets in KL; and not any home bakers or in any hotels.

Cameron Valley Tea Bangsar – Come for the teas and the FOOD!

Bangsar is one of my favourites haunts.

I’m a regular gym rat but I’m more often at 1 Utama then the Celebrity Fitness in BV II. But regardless of my gym schedule, Bangsar is my preferred hang-out area primarily because of the cafes here which offers a smorgasbord of cuisines. More specifically, it is one of the few areas in KL that has a concentrated colony of outlets that offers amazing DESSERTS!

Now I can add another cafe to my list. Cameron Valley Tea Bangsar is a casual dining concept outlet designed for tea lovers and their food here adheres to the healthy, MSG free, homemade sauces and fresh ingredients philosophy.

When I drove past Cameron Valley Tea Bangsar barely a week after it opened, I was immediately tempted to drop in. After all, mention “tea” and “Cameron Highlands” together in one sentence and there’s bound to be reference to scones. Also, sipping teas means accompanying it with dainty pastries and cakes; all my favourite things!

Sibu Island Resort, Johor Malaysia – Retreat, Adventure, Spa, Teambuilding

Sibu Island Resort.

Heard of it? Yes, No?

No doubt the name is a bit misleading, and like any other Malaysian, my immediate reaction to the name was “Huh? Why the 100% similarity in name to Sibu in Sarawak and it’s in Johor??”

Name confusion aside, this island is unbelievably pristine with much coveted clear waters that is unusual for this part of the Peninsular.
