TUNE Hotels Celebrates 5th Anniversary with new design!

I’m seriously excited – Tune Hotel is opening a hotel in Scotland Edinburgh and another in one of my favourite cities – Melbourne!
Tune Hotel Scotland is due to open next month and Tune Hotel Melbourne in late 2013. From its humble beginnings of the brand’s first landmark hotel located in downtown Kuala Lumpur, Tune Hotels now has a total of 26 hotels operating across 5 countries in the Asia and the UK.

I was at its fifth anniversary celebrations recently and we were all taken for a tour of the new Tune Hotel design, starting with the very first Tune Hotel, the downtown Kuala Lumpur Tune Hotel.

“We started our journey with the establishment of the first Tune branded hotel with our downtown Kuala Lumpur hotel back in May 2007.It’s fitting that with the new design and brand, which we’ve been working on for a number of months now, Tune Hotel Downtown Kuala Lumpur, is the first of the current portfolio to have itself refreshed and “made-over”.

Japan Day 2: Asakusa – Sensoji Temple : Ueno Station : Tokyo Station: Akihabara : Ichiran Ramen

The 2nd day started off slow and relaxed.

Well, not exactly relaxed as I was editing pictures, blogging and jotting down my experiences as each day passed by. My hostel is wonderful; ample room space, large common lounge, clean big shared washrooms and so comfortable to just sit in the common area and talk to the people and get some online work done.

I had a simple breakfast of bread and even took a nap at 1pm. I set out to explore a bit at the Sensoji Temple area which is like 2 streets away from my hostel. I have seen it before yesterday with Thomas but didn’t take a picture of myself at the lantern so today I did! 🙂

Food hygiene tips when travelling : Just another travel pointer from me

As you can see from my website, I love nothing more than exploring new countries and tasting new cuisines. However, I am always cautious and sensible when it comes to food hygiene. If you follow a few simple food hygiene steps, you can ensure your trip won’t be ruined by anyone falling ill.

Clean the germs away

Germs can spread very easily and it’s thought that your cell phone, PC keyboard and mouse have more germs on them than anything else you own. So when you’re travelling and you want to visit an internet café, be sure to clean the keyboard and the mouse before logging onto Foxybingo.com or Twitter. Then clean your hands before eating anything.

Food Travelling in Southeast Asia

One of the things people enjoy most about travelling is the chance to experience a different culture and one of the easiest ways to do this is to try the local cuisine on holiday. Travelling throughout Southeast Asia will introduce you to a kaleidoscope of cultures each with its own distinctive cuisine. The area is roughly split into nine regions which are Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Viet Nam, Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and the Philippines. Thai food has become commonplace nowadays and most people may have visited a noodle bar but visiting the actual region will offer you so much more choice, from Tom Yam soup to Kaeng Ho curry. Extend your trip into Burma and you could experience a range of traditional local salads (thokes) whose main ingredients can vary from rice or glass noodles to kaffir lime or fish paste (ngapi).

Day 6 – Pulau Redang – Malaysia Tourism Hunt 2012

This day marked the day I released a baby turtle into the wild!

Turtle hatchlings are released from June to October and it’s a popular activity here in Kuala Terengganu Malaysia. Our beach here is one of the few coasts in the world to be visited by giant leatherback turtles. In an effort to conserve and lessen the extinction of these rare leatherback turtles, sanctuaries and conservation efforts are in place and public education are much more wide-spread now. These sanctuaries diligently collect the eggs, put them into incubation and hatched baby turtles are baby-sat till they reached the correct point of maturity to be released back into the wild.
