We know that Thailand is wonderful.

The food, the sights, the shopping and the wonderful hospitality – what other country could possibly rival Thailand in those factors?

Besides the bustling capital of Bangkok, visitors flock to the nearby islands for its pristine waters and beach fun.

One of the more relaxed island destination is Hua Hin, a mere 3 hours, 200km road trip from Bangkok.

At Hua Hin, one shops, eat and play on the beach.
With its long stretches of relatively quiet beaches, Hua Hin provides a beach holiday minus the rowdy party crowd.
Likewise, it pleasantly lacks the hassling hawkers and overbearing tourist presence of the likes of Samui or Phuket.

I do wish I had tried more burgers in Firehouse while in Bangkok. There was time for only one before the #DIAsiaTourism Awards Night and subsequent evenings plans were disrupted no thanks to heavy rain and jams worst than the ones we see in KL.

I had a good time at the Digital Innovation Asia (DIA) – DIAsiaTourism Bangkok earlier in June. Was it just 1 month since then?
Time sure flies!
Ever since then I was very caught up with the Ramadan (fasting month) reviews and I’m glad to see the hard work paid off as many of my friends and readers had emailed me to say that it was a very useful list! If you missed out on the list you can view it –> HERE.

Meanwhile I will be heading to Chengdu next week for a media trip with Air Asia X. And after that a trip to Sandakan Sarawak with the Starwood Group of Hotels. So before I start my story on Chengdu (there would be pandas, majestic mountains & opera shows!) followed by the remote peaceful Sandakan, here’s my Bangkok Tour with the bloggers I met at the DIAsiaTourism Bangkok .

REVIEW: Pullman Bangkok Hotel G – my Deluxe Room

Frankly after staying at many hotels, there really isn’t a hotel that is absolutely horrifying. Well, at least for me there isn’t. Even for budget accommodations (of which I had my fair share of from my backpacking trips), the basic needs of cleanliness, a roof over your head and a workable washroom are met.

When we pay more, the standards are elevated accordingly. Needless to say we begin to expect more, and with so many hotels to pick from, what motivates the guests to repetitively return to a particular hotel?

Pla Tong Mookata – Thai BBQ in Bangkok for 139 baht

I went for a super value-for-money meal yesterday evening and as usual I posted about it on my social media channels. Following the post was some queries on the location, the variety of food and etc.
Well, the location is very easy as it is near a BTS Station. 2 BTS stations actually, but the nearest one is Victory Monument, which is about 1 minute stroll away.
Head towards the Century The Movie Plaza and at its opposite row, look for this shop Eat Am Here Bangkok and then walk ahead as Pla Tong Mookata (the Thai BBQ shop) is on the same row.
