It’s the Mid-Autumn Festival or Mooncake Festival again!
The Mid Autumn Festival which falls on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month is one of the important festivals observed by Chinese all over the world. There’s a folklore about how mooncake came about and the legend is easily “googled” if you’re interested. 🙂
For me, the Mid Autumn Festival is about eating mooncakes. 🙂
If you have been an avid follower of my blog, you would have noticed that I’m a fanatical bread lover and a burger addict. 😀
I have written a few posts on some of my favourite bakeries such as Hagen, Craft Bakers, Tommy Le Baker, etc, all which sells artisanal and healthy loaves which I’m so fond of.
While Bonjour is not exactly a pure artisan or European breads bakery, I find their loaves of a higher grade from the usual commercial bakeries, and for the very same reason that kept me returning for more each week.
Correct me if I’m mistaken but I’m of the opinion that the average Malaysian prefers his/her breads soft and fluffy rather than the hard crusted, chewy and heavy European-style breads.
At Tommy Le Baker and Craft Bakers, their breads are made from scratch using imported flour and all loaves are preservative, additive, dough improver and softener free. These are truly hand-baked goodness. But light and floaty these loaves aren’t for sure, and it will be sometime before the average Malaysian appreciates such breads. Admittedly there has been a shift in the bread consuming society recently, a testament to the amount of artisan bakeries popping up of late. But some bakeries still struggled, such as Hagen Bake and Brew, one of my favourite bakeries which had since gave up baking their own loaves and now stocks Heistand breads instead. Sigh.
Anyhow, back to Bonjour Garden.
This is my second visit to myBurgerLab and I had to make it worth my while. The queue is horrendous, the wait is punishing, and the crowd is maddening.
Thus we figured that we might as well try all the burgers on the menu, and here we are; taking on 10 burgers at one sitting! :DD
There were 6 of us so it was easy-peasy. Too bad we forgot to take a group picture! 🙁
Well at least there was this epic shot to remember the night – here’s me gobbling down my burger and my foodie partners in tow, KC and Kevin. Best foodies friends they are; game for anything and has always accompanied me in almost all my eating adventures! 😛
I went to Ikuzo Ramen about 1-2 weeks after it opened in SS2.
With only Marutama Ramen as a gauge (I have eaten ramen elsewhere of course but it wasn’t at a pure ramen outlet), and without even stepping in the 4 main ramen joints in KL then, Ikuzo Ramen was already a flop in my books.
It’s convenient location and rather budget- friendly prices were the main reasons I went. SS2 is a mere 15 minutes drive from TTDI and slurping on bowls of ramen for less than RM10 each was enticing enough.
Me and a bunch of foodie friend had 10 burgers at one go! 🙂 Pictures –> HERE!

It’s going to be a blast. I will be meeting and mingling with bloggers from Hong Kong, Singapore, Philippines, etc in one of Singapore’s most prominent blog awards event. I’m so looking forward to improve my network and my blogging skills as there’s much to learn from everyone present there. After handling some international blogging campaigns via my company Rouge Communications, I can confidently state that blog advertising in the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Australia and other countries differs in varying degrees from Malaysia. These international bloggers has a different mindset when it comes to advertorials and blogging!
As in all things in life, improvement and change is permanent. A friend of mine recently took on bold changes in his career. From an engineer, he went on to become a videographer and the next thing I knew, he’s one of the masterminds behind a burger joint!

I visit Cinnamon Coffee House quite regularly. The proximity of it to my office and home plays a part and so does dealing with the wonderful people from One World Hotel.
Over time and many visits I realized that while the variety improved; some stations remained a hit and miss. The spread however, offers good value for money and One World’s Cinnamon Coffee House has always been renowned for the fantastic and diversified selection.
