These 2 are always being compared. And supposedly the same. Of course there are sight differences here and there, mostly on the outlook, and some technical specs.
As with my previous post, the camera function is vastly different in terms of controls & obviously the images’ outcome too.

Here, I got some pictures to show of the aesthetic differences.

Dimensions.

Left: Nexus One – (L x W x T) 119 x 59.8 x 11.5 mm ( 4.69 x 2.35 x 0.45 inches)

Right: HTC Desire – (L x W x T) 119 x 60 x 11.9 mm ( 4.69 x 2.35 x 0.45 inches)

Both – 3.7” AMOLED Touch Screen, 480×800 WVGA resolution, with pinch & zoom capcabilities. 1GHz Processor speed. 576 MB RAM (N1 is 512MB only) and 512 MB ROM.

I managed to capture some interesting moments during the Malacca homestay with my handy HTC Desire last week.

From my previous post HERE, where I posted the video of my foster parents’ village house; now I got more to share:

1. Watching a female goat giving birth to 2 kids..(I whipped out my camera a bit too slow, else would have caught the moment when the kid popped out! No worries, will get a picture of it soon!).

Here is Part 3 and last of my crazy guest bloggers write-up on smart phones. Josh Lim, an Apple fanboy, takes on the analogy of his beloved iPhone versus the HTC Desire.

Hello I am Josh Lim from www.josh.my.

I use a PC for daily work, flirt with a Macbook Pro for occasional presentations, but am in a serious relationship with my iPhone. It is worth noting that before I bought my iPhone, I had at least 3 dreams about getting an iPhone. As of such you can expect me to be biased.

However, being a tech geek I will give you a technical breakdown of the iPhone 3Gs vs the HTC Desire, and from there you can decide what’s best for you!

Weight

The iPhone 3Gs and the HTC Desire weigh about the same (133 g vs 135g ), seriously! I actually weighted on a digital scale that Rebecca uses for cooking (that can measure very precise grams). The scale fluctuated a bit, but you can’t really tell the difference in weight.

Chillex Cafe, Puchong – A Place to Chill & Relax

Seriously, I barely had time/stomach to catch up with the burger-volution that’s taking over town.

First was the massive burger by New York New York, of which I didn’t even bother to visit after reading numerous blog posts on how horrible the food was. Then came the 12 – inch vertical monstrous creation of Cravings in Sunway Giza, which sadly reported to be as monstrous in taste.
Next, The Double Ultimate Skewers Glutton Burger in Skewers, Subang Avenue, of which I haven’t had the ..yeah you guessed it, time/stomach to try yet.

And just last week, at the launch of Chillex Cafe in Puchong Financial Corporate Center (wahh.. now Puchong got financial center, fuyoh.., what’s next? Segambut International Corporate City???? *sarcastic* ), I was presented with this gargantuan fella…

Techie Sham Hardy, one of my colleagues was salivating over the HTC Desire when he saw mine. Needless to say, he couldn’t wait to get his hands on it for a tech spin to see how it fares against an older model like HTC Hero.
And being the kind soul I am (ahem), I loaned him the HTC Desire for a short stint.

I can always regurgitate (aka copy and paste) all the technical details off some tech site & you will find that whatever’s on my post is your search result for “difference between BB and HTC Desire/Android” online…………..
OR
I could get real life experiences reviews from the very people who owns the phones & get them to share their thoughts on it.
After all, nothing beats real life experiences & that’s is why we all read blogs for ain’t it? If you want another tech-jargon filled post I’m afraid you are at the wrong site. But if you’re looking at being entertained (I have some wacky posts coming up 😉 ) then watch this space & enjoy! :yes:

So here’s what you can expect for the last leg of the Maxis10Reviews week.

First up is Hanie Hidayah, who has a BB Curve 8520 and previously a T- Mobile SideKick LX user.
Next is Josh Lim, a hardcore iPhone enthusiast, and who thinks iPhone/APPLE rules the world *roll eyes *
Then we have Sham Hardy, a techie blogger & a current Android user, but wondering if an upgrade is worth it.. (and I just have to do my part to make sure he does! 😉 )

Recently, Rebecca found out that she is one of the 10 chosen bloggers to review the HTC Desire, and she asked us to compare it with other phones cause here in the office, everyone uses different phones. I’m using a Blackberry Curve and a T-Mobile Sidekick LX, Josh & Jason Ong an iPhone, Sham HTC Hero, and Rebecca, a Nexus One.

It’s much fun that way cause we know how each others’ phones work, and we get to play around with it, rather than everyone having the same freaking phone 24/7.

Blackberry is now my main phone, due to the internet usage so I guess I’ll compare the HTC Desire with it instead.

For those who had been following my tweets (with hashtag #Maxis10Reviews), you’ll notice that I have been using the camera a lot on my HTC Desire.

Like I said before, I’m no techie & I’m appreciating the phone more for it’s æsthetics and it’s easy to use functions suitable for an on-the-go female.
And like all females, I whip out my camera more often that not at any events and for any reason. I do however, rely more on my point and shoot camera as my previous handphones doesn’t photographs very well.

Things are different now that I got a HTC Desire. Yup, even my Nexus One loses out to this baby. Hence, I thought this is worthy of a review post.

Surviving Melaka Homestay – with my HTC Desire.

I was shortlisted by Tourism Malaysia as one of the bloggers for the Melaka Homestay Programme at Parit Penghulu recently.
I have to admit that when I agreed to participate, my idea of the homestay was at some Baba Nyonya Peranakan house RIGHT SMACK in the middle of Malacca town. I pictured myself walking around Jonker St, gorging on the local fare (courtesy by Tourism Malaysia 😉 ), being served home cooked Nyonya delicacies by my foster parents & participating in beading, traditional embroidery & pineapple tarts making classes.
Imagine my horror when I saw the itinerary & realized that the homestay is at some twilight area of Sg Rambai/Parit Penghulu (where the hell is that??) !!!

Short of pulling out at the last minute (which isn’t my style) I resigned myself to 2 days of drudgery & boredom.

Well, as of now, (1st night here) I’m happy to report that the trip wasn’t that bad so far, and the bunch of bloggers that came along was an easy-going bunch :yes:
I have to thank my lucky stars too that tech blogger FriedBeef happened to be in the group; as well as Android fan flyguy729!
Haha..we just ignored the (at some parts) boring itinerary & talked about iPhones, Androids, free apps & blogging!

Since there are some interesting activities, I decided to capture those moments using the video camera of my HTC Desire and share it on my blog since I will be writing about this trip anyway.

1st up is a video I took of the decades old, TRADITIONAL, actual lived-in (not the display versions in museums!) village house I had to stay in during my homestay programme.
