It was huge privilege to be in the Jaguar showroom last week at Pavilion to witness the unravelling of the “new” Jaguar XF.

Though I’m not as automotively -inclined nor not as “educated” or familiar with automotives abracadabra as my media peers that day, I, like everyone else are familiar with the prestige and quality associated with Jags.

According to my fellow automotive gurus, the 3 variants of Jaguar XF launched that day was more of a facelift from the previous models.

For the past week I have been busy hopping from one car launch to another.
Perhaps it’s a mark of ushering in the new year and new indulgences in the form of vehicles and gadgets are equivalent to a self pat on the back for surviving the past year. Thus what better time would it be to launch new car models?

Whatever it is, a beautiful car is worth the time and attention.

The new VOLVO V60 is blend of good looks and performance. It boasts of a coupe-like design, dynamic performance, advanced driving ability and world leading safety features.

Golden Phoenix, Hotel Equatorial Kuala Lumpur – Chinese New Year Menu & Dim Sum!

This marks my virginal visit to Golden Phoenix at Equatorial Hotel.

I missed the CNY preview last week no thanks to some unforeseen circumstances. By a happy chance, I managed to slot in a dim sum lunch here earlier this week where I got to sample a few items from the CNY set in addition to dainty morsels of the Chef’s specialty dim sum.

To start off lunch, we lou-ed another Yee Sang; effectively marking my 15th Yee Sang of the year. Oh, I’m certainly set for 2012. Imagine all that prosperity coming my way! LOL.

Honda Insight Review – A fuel-efficient hybrid car on the road!

I HAVE AN INSIGHT!

Ermm.. not quite.. since Honda Malaysia won’t hand me the keys; and attempts at “carrying” the Insight off from the event proved futile! 🙁

A few blogposts back, I shouted out about my test drive session with the Honda Insight.
A few hundred kilometres later; I’m back, smarter and better informed on how a hybrid car works.
So here’s it is, my thoughts as a young (ahem), female, urbanite driver on the Honda Insight.

“What is hybrid technology? What is the fuss about “green cars” ? Are they powered by solar?”

From the start of our day at Jaya One, the term “fuel efficiency” was on the fly.
After all, the MAIN reason to drive a hybrid (God, doesn’t it sound like like some Biochemistry term there? ) is “You’ll boost your “coolness quotient.” “Going Green & Saving Green aka $$”.

BMW Vision EfficientDynamics Showcase @ Pavilion KL

Today, the very same car that Tom Cruise drove in the box office movie Mission Impossible 4: Ghost Protocol was unveiled at Level 3, Couture Pavilion.

Yes, the car was specially shipped to Malaysia. If you want to see it for yourself and take some pictures, it’s on display at Level 3, Couture Pavilion; right in front of Salvatore Ferragamo.

Starbucks Valencia Frappuccino is Starbucks Malaysia new drink for this Chinese New Year festive season along with Valencia Macchiato.

This sweet and tangy beverage is a new addition to Starbucks’ core Frappuccino. The same goes for the Valencia Macchiato if you choose to have a hot version.

West Lake Garden Chinese Restaurant @ Sunway Resort Hotel and Spa – Chinese New Year Menu

The West Lake Garden Restaurant at Sunway Resort Hotel and Spa was my favourite halal hotel outlet.

I have been meaning to sample their dim sum for some time but that has yet to materialise since 2011. Hhaha… I’m sure I’ll eventually get to it this year. I officiated my first visit of 2012 here when I was there recently to sample their CNY 2012 set menus.

Optimistic from my previous dining experiences here (MIGF, delectable Shuang Wei Mooncakes, and a whopping 3kg rice dumpling), I looked forward to be surpised by the chefs’ culinary prowess, as time & time again my meals has been stellar and the dessserts positively exquisite.

Happily I trotted into Checkers Cafe for their Chinese New Year set menu preview last week. I have an inclination where I based my anticipation of the next review from my previous experience and since I was suitable impressed with the ramadan buffet last year, I was naturally; of high expectations for their Chinese New Year menu.

Below: “Gong Xi Gong Xi!! ” greets Dorsett Regency’s signature giant muffins; all adorned in CNY prosperity hues of gold & red.
