Much has been raved about Contango; a 250-seater contemporary space featuring 2 open kitchens that boasts of an impressive spread ranging from local culinary recipes to Japanese seafood and Italian pizzas.
The daily lunch and dinner buffet has been consistently popular and this Ramadan, Contango welcomes diners to its buka puasa spread; with a special focus on classical Malay cuisine where the likes of roasted leg of lamb, rendang, tempoyak and briyani takes centrestage.
The Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur will be officially launched in December 2012 and everyone; locals and tourist alike can look forward to another of YTL’s spectacular properties and stellar services.
Shortly after the opening of Gonbei San at Starhill Gallery (post HERE ), I was dying to sample their weekend buffets again.
But it turned out that the buffets will only start in late April, as the Chef Lew and his team is still tweaking the menu. Meanwhile, one can sample the few exquisite dishes Chef Lew has whipped up at Gonbei; some of which are delicacies not available elsewhere.

I was fortunate to have a private lunch with him at Gonbei last week.
After having my eyes dazzled & brains fuzzled (with the prices) during the media tour (POST HERE –check out the brilliant craftmanship of the watches & jewelleries) , we were treated to a scrumptious dinner at Shook! KL.
Not just another western dinner; mind you, but a superbly executed fusionised menu, with clever amalgamation of local ingredients & western presentation, such as the “sushi” in the amuse bouche below.

As an invited guest of Executive Chef Kevin Cape, I languished in the company of 4 master chefs & had the opportunity to have my taste buds stimulated with Chef Stephen Mercer’s modern Australian cuisine. Yes, it was an excellent night. :yes:

The National Geographic Store in Lot 10, Bukit Bintang opens through a joint venture between YTL Corporation Berhad and Worldwide Retail Store; a Barcelona-based partner of the National Geographic Society responsible for National Geographic Stores around the world.
This outlet spans over 4000 square feet & encompasses a retail marketplace along with an exhibition area and a delectable Spanish inspired café.
This store is the 2nd store in Asia (1st is in Vivo City Singapore – I visited in May & our National Geographic store in LOT 10 is way better!) & fourth in the world after Regent Street, London, Vivo City, Singapore; and Malaga, Spain.
