It was 31st of July; nearing the end of Ramadan. One would have thought that considering that Ramadan is coming to an end, I’d be spending my last day of July going for Ramadan food reviews or having a gluttony marathon at the ramadan bazaars, but no, I marked the end of July by uniting my fellow blogger friends in the Urbanite Bloggers Gathering hosted by Ninetology.

I just got back from Shanghai and if you have noticed, I was updating my twitter, FB, FB page while I was in China. If you don’t already know, China has banned Facebook so it is technically not possible to access it withing China. I found out later that Twitter was blocked as well. Luckily Instagram wasn’t so I was still able to access it on my iPhone. And my Instagram is linked to my personal Facebook so I could still update pictures VIA INSTAGRAM but unfortunately my twitter and FB Page wasn’t linked!
Long story short, I can update Instagram and my personal FB via Instagram but not my twitter and FA page as I would need to activate the Twitter and FB Page app. And, I can’t reply to FB comments since I can’t access FB app on my iPhone!
Before I left KL, I did some background checks on VPNs and how it works so I can find a way around the Facebook ban. And coincidentally, a representative from www.12Hide.com site actually emailed me if I’m interested to try their service.
Fabulous! Just in time for my Shanghai trip too! 🙂
Today Asus launched a tablet that’s basically for everyone; the Asus Memo Pad, priced at an affordable RM499. That’s like the cheapest “branded” tablet in the market now (if I’m not mistaken)!
Alcatel is not exactly the name that comes to mind when one think of smartphones and tablets but the brand’s 2013 strategy is set to make a loud return in Malaysia with its ONE TOUCH series that delivers simple, different and smart mobile technology with the partnership of Ten Ten Telecommunications.
I’m in the market for a new ultrabook.
Frankly, I’m huge fan of ultrabooks as they are usually light (or rather the first generations ones were) and they are designed for mobility which suits me very well.
For Toshiba, I was mightily impressed with the Toshiba Portege Z830 which is the world’s lightest ultrabook back then. Weight aside, it’s durability was remarkable, withstanding weight, pressure and knocks easily.
When Toshiba sent me their latest ultrabook to review, I got a shock.

I have been following Acer’s progression of their ultrabooks and I must say while the S5 was sleek and impressive, the S7 is gorgeous!
I love devices in white, and this certainly got my name written all over it! 🙂
