Lim Fried Chicken SS2 – juicy, crispy and hot!
The famous Lim Fried Chicken is finally less than 15 mins drive away from me.
I think I’ve eaten at the original Lim Fried Chicken once in my lifetime.

I love char siew but it was challenging to find one that I enjoy.
Too many of the popular ones (Meng Kee, Char Siew Yoong, etc) were overly sweet and I find the flavours of the meat lost because of it.
But Toast and Roast has remained one of my top choice for char siew ever since its inception 6 years ago.
Granted, I don’t visit often as parking is a challenge there, and at times, yes, even the char siew was too sweet for me.
Today I soothed my frayed nerves (running another new business is harrowing) with their char siew at their spanking new outlet at Chow Yang SS2.
Their legendary char siew was as good as I remembered, and happily enough, it wasn’t too sweet!
As expected there are more and more bakeries making these salted egg yolk croissants now. The poor imitation by The Bread Shop failed miserably (based on from various feedback from personal friends) and as I peered at these salted egg yolk croissants from Bake Plan SS2, I must say the appearance belies the taste.
UPDATE: 30th Nov 2015.
Complaints as can be seen on their FB page are as below. I’ll like to advise that you plan your timing if you would like to queue for these croissants.

This morning I had to queue for the (now) famous molten salted egg yolk croissant.
Like everyone else, I got there early at 9:15 am to buy the first batch out for the day.

Limited to 5 croissants/per customer per purchase. More info on the timing for each batch of croissants –> https://rebeccasaw.com/salted-egg-yolk-molten-croissant-le-bread-days-cafe-what-time-available-and-limited-to-5-per-customer/
I’ve personally queued for some this morning and it was sold out almost immediately. I went to queue again at 2.30pm for the 3.30pm batch and came away empty-handed. All sold out for there were people waiting in the cafe from lunch time!
Last but not least, thank you everyone for sharing my post. My site hits 50,000 visits/day now and 18,000 people are talking about it on Facebook (data as of morning of 26th Nov).

Just opposite from Clique Clinic (my default clinic for Coolsculpting and Q-Switch facial, with stem cells procedure in the works) is this small cafe Le Bread Days.
The one thing that catapulted the cafe to worthy fame is their salted egg yolk (molten) croissant (RM6.90).
For this price it is one hell of a good croissant. Rich, thick and decently potent in salted egg flavour, the molten salted egg yolk filling is enough to send anyone who is a fan of lau sar bao swooning.
I went to Ikuzo Ramen about 1-2 weeks after it opened in SS2.
With only Marutama Ramen as a gauge (I have eaten ramen elsewhere of course but it wasn’t at a pure ramen outlet), and without even stepping in the 4 main ramen joints in KL then, Ikuzo Ramen was already a flop in my books.
It’s convenient location and rather budget- friendly prices were the main reasons I went. SS2 is a mere 15 minutes drive from TTDI and slurping on bowls of ramen for less than RM10 each was enticing enough.
Not surprisingly, another porky joint has commenced business in SS2 area.
What’s surprising however, is the fact that this joint sells ONLY pork burgers; and nothing else.
A simple shop with an eye-catching red signboard and even more straightforward menu, Wallop focus solely on it’s star product; which is it’s juicy, lean yet tasty pork patties (burgers).
So in my previous post I was all elated that there is a taiwanese dessert outlet in SS2, where their specialty is adding a raw egg or an egg pudding on your ice (READ about the Ice Bowl, SS2 HERE ) and I had thought that was already quite a noteworthy twist to the taiwanese dessert that we are all so fond of.
I certainly didn’t expect to discover at another dessert outlet; another and perhaps even more of a novelty than raw eggs; a topping of which is aptly named “Yogurt Popping Balls“.
