What is a #cruffin you ask?
Well, Conrad Centennial Singapore defines it as a croissant shaped like a muffin and stuffed with different fillings.

My search for a quiet café away from the favoured areas of Publika, Mont Kiara and Damansara and the usual boisterous crowd yielded some encouraging results recently.
One such cafe is The Curious Goat, nestled in the quiet neighbourhood of Damansara Perdana.
2 years back when it was coffee and cakes for almost every cafe in Klang Valley, Pickle and Fig offered hot-pressed paninis and their home blends of smoothies, providing a refreshing departure from the typical brunch cafes.
Customers grew to love the rustic sandwiches; build from quality ingredients and made fresh upon order.
A glass of thick, concentrated goodness of their smoothies completed the meal for many.
Teatime on a Sunday: I had this enjoyable bingsu at the new Bingsu Cafe at Damansara Uptown yesterday.
It was the best respite from the sweltering heat though it was a costly one.
The basic Injeolmi Bingsu (peanuts, soy powder, almonds & rice cakes (I think) & shaved ice cost RM12.90.
RM12 – 14 is pretty much equivalent to an affogato at most cafe, and by comparison I guess a bingsu is “more worth it” since it comes with more toppings.
However I added a scoop of durian ice cream since I was hungry. The extra scoop cost RM9.40 (see the receipt – RM7.90 + RM1.50) so in total this bowl cost me RM22+.
The famous cempedak cake is here in PJ, at Swich’s second outlet in Damansara Uptown.
And easily accessible since the second outlet is a cosy shoplot on the ground floor. It is unfortunate that many people still struggle to find Swich’s little space on the UG of Publika.
Such a shame, for Swich does make great cakes.
Their range of cakes may not suit everyone (no food would please everybody) but I have my favourites.
I did mention in my previous post on the buffet lunch at Contango, Majestic KL that I had thought the desserts deserve another article of its own.
In fact, I looked again at my set of pictures and decided that yeap, they looked really good, and thus warrants a pretty write up on its own! 🙂
The Red Velvet.
It’s been a while, since I’ve had a great chicken dish.
Not good, not decent, but GREAT.
I’m glad to share that I’ve had one such great chicken dish recently.
Bedrock’s signature is its Salted Roast Chicken (RM18), brined for hours before it is roasted to a shiny, golden brown color.
The resultant flavour is tasty, yet not overly salty and moist chicken meat. Its name of ‘salted chicken‘ might trigger some of us to link its flavour to the famous Ipoh salted baked chicken but I’ll like to assure you that it is NOT similar at all.
