UNCLE TETSU CHEESECAKE @ 1U Shopping Centre

I’ve been baking a lot lately but I have not attempted a cheesecake as yet.
To be honest I love my cheese as it is, the more vintage the better. Cheesecakes are a hit and miss; some too dense, some too light and most lacked any flavours or texture other than being plain sweet and sticky.

Uncle Tetsu opened just last week at 1U and since it was just a short walk away from my home, I didn’t mind giving it a go.
Besides, it’s been a while since I had a good plain cheesecake. And its reputation as one of the best cheesecakes around did intrigued me.

Order “Lapis Legit” – Indonesian Layer Cake from Vanity Kitchen (Malaysia)

Micheele contacted just before Chinese New Year if I would like to sample some of her cakes.

Upon receiving the email I surfed over to her site www.pastryenthusiast.blogspot.com and was immediately intrigued with the promises of AUTHENTIC Indonesian layer cake.
Apparently the recipe they have has been passed down in their family for over a decade and has been perfected.

While most of us may be aware that there is a Harrods shop in KLCC, located strategically by the busy and most accessed escalator in Suria KLCC, how many of us know that there is one Harrods Cafe on the Ground Floor, near the entrance to KLCC from the Isetan side?

Swich Cafe – Publika – banana cake, apple cake and avocado cake

I have said many times that I loved most of the cakes from Swich Cafe and here’s another of my review in continuous support of their creations. I made another visit soon after the debut of the mangosteen cake (review HERE) for her Avocado Cake and as expected, I wasn’t able to resist the other cakes on display and ended up with an additional Apple and Banana Cake.

Owner Cheng is one of the most creative baker I know and she is tirelessly conceiving new creations almost every week. As of now, she had added Jackfruit Cake, Ciku Yoghurt Cake with Roasted Cashews, Coconut Cashew Cake, durian ice cream and a Durian Ice Cream Pavlova to Swich Cafe menu.
I have been meaning to drop in for her cakes for weeks, but a few untoward incidents had left me in despair for a while and I had temporarily lost my mojo for food hunting. Nevertheless, my cakes obsession had resurfaced recently so I hope to visit Swich latest outlet at Publika Red Bridge soon to sample her new cakes! 🙂
