Now tell me, how many of you have heard of it?
I haven’t, not until I got to know about Aomori and its abundance of fresh produce.
I love Japan and I’ve learnt sometime ago that every part of the lovely country has its own wonderful produce to offer the world.
I’ve written about the amazing rides one can experience in Universal Studios Osaka, Japan.
Now, what else can you expect if you pay approximately 7,000 yen/RM240 (adult) for a Universal Studio ticket in Osaka?
Well, plenty!
Other than the MUST-visit Hello Kitty, The Amazing Spiderman & the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, popular characters to watch out for include the likeable Minions as well as the Sesame Street gang.
Snoopy was in residence too and this attraction is perfect for the young with rides, a street show and a playland.
The “Wizarding World of Harry Potter” theme park at Universal Studios Japan is the only one in Asia and second in the world after Orlando, Florida.
And guess what? I was there!
From Asakusa area (where I started my Japan adventure), I picked up some bearings of Japan along the way as I mixed with my friends in my Sakura Hostel.
As you know, my first and second day were quite alright as I had Thomas and Chong to show me around. Though still a bit lost, I eventually got a hang of the subways and areas in Tokyo.
By the 5th day, I had to move out of Asakusa to Ikebukuro since I managed to get myself a discounted ticket on the famous overnight bus; the Willer Express to Osaka. As usual the bus ticket booking was last minute, but it turned out well as it got me qualified for a discounted ticket to Osaka 🙂
The bus station at Sunshine City is nearby, so I figured that I might as well uproot myself from the Asakusa area and force myself to explore other areas of Tokyo.
My train ride from Asaskusa to Ikebukuro cost me 230 Yen – RM9.20.
Lugging around my huge heavy 15kg luggage in the subway is no joke. Well, that’s solo travel for you.

I have one more hostel to blog about in Tokyo, but today I feel like blogging about this one! 🙂
Due to poor planning (or no planning at all), one of the days within the week I was at Asakusa area my hostel (Sakura) didn’t have any space so I had to move just for that one night. Well, not a problem I thought, it should be easy enough to get another hostel in the hostel infested area of Asakusa. Or so I thought.
As luck would have it, most of the affordable ones (meaning cheaper than 2500 Yen – RM120) are fully booked.
After much googling and surfing between hostelworld and other sites, I’m back on hostelworld and booked the cheapest available but pretty nearby one.
When I went to Japan last year, it was by stroke of luck that I got tickets from Data Tony himself on twitter. Happy with such a windfall, the worry of footing my own expenses and accommodation didn’t really hit me til I started researching online.
So I’m now at Day 4 of my Japan trip and I have updated on the side some posts about eating poisonous puffer fish, McD’s McGriddles breakfast, Kobe beef in Kobe Osaka and the best sushi I had in Sushi Dai, Tokyo. I’m slowly but surely finishing up my Japan Travelogue! 🙂
Today, I’m taking a step back and I’m going to share with you how I got to Japan; how I got my flight tickets and how the whole Japan adventure began!
