The Kompleks Niaga Limbongan is alike a foodcourt.
Think of it as a muhibbah foodcourt where you can indulge in chicken rice balls, Nyonya laksa as well as roti canai and mee goreng in the early hours of the morning.
I’m back to sample Ti Chen’s Chinese New Year menu after a break of 2 years, as the last I’ve tossed a yee sang here is in 2013.
But no, 2013 wasn’t my last visit to Ti Chen. I revisited from time to time; once for mooncakes and sometimes for lunch.
Over time I’ve noticed apparent changes in the menu, particularly after Chef Lu’s appointment just over 6 months ago.
In November 2015 I was invited to sample the new ‘weekday special set lunches‘ and ‘quick weekday dim sum menu‘ (link HERE) and came away impressed with the flavours and amazed with the value of the sets.
The Chinese New Year festive season is upon us again soon.
That means family bonding time, good food and all round cheer.
The reunion dinner on Lunar new year is a signature meal, and so are the many meals that follows for 15 days after.
It is my first visit to Dynasty Restaurant at Renaissance Kuala Lumpur Hotel and it certainly won’t be my last.
Throughout the 8 course meal I was constantly hmm-ing and oooh-ing as I tucked hungrily into every dish.

As you may be aware, I’m a health and fitness freak.
Though my FB and Instagram timeline is flooded with images of sinful, delicious food, I actually consume little of those since I make it a point to share the portions when I dine out.
I live by the mantra of “Stop when you are not hungry, not when you are full“.
My daily diet consist mostly of vegetables and meat, is low in sugar and even lower in carbohydrates.
I do however, allow myself fresh fruits for fibres and for vitamins.
Sometimes I beat that craving for something sweet by consuming a fruit instead. Fruits or chocolate? Fruits of course.
Fruits or candy? Fruits again.
Fruits or cake? Ok, that’s a tough one, even for me.
But if you are watching your calories, grab that fruit instead!
It is best to eat whole fruits but drinking your fruits isn’t all that bad if you make smart choices.
Always, always seek the no sugar added variety if you have to buy ready packed juices.
Read the labels. The ingredient list should preferably contain only the juice that you buying that pack for. No sucrose, fructose, corn syrup or anything of that sort.
The latest juice pack I’m eyeing to add to my grocery list is Tropicana 100% Orange Juice.
The package claims each litre of juice is made with 16 freshly picked oranges**. These oranges had soaked up 1,000 hours of sunshine before being picked, and this sunlight has contributed contributing to its natural sweetness.
Gosh, RM6.99 can’t buy you 16 oranges even from the wholesale market at Selayang!
