On Monday I walked into Sheraton Imperial for a meeting and the mooncake display in front of Toastina had me grinded to a halt and did a double take.
“Wait a minute, since when Sheraton Imperial offers mooncakes?”
My recent hair colour change had generated much interest as usual.
It seems that both my online and offline friends found my hair chameleon habits fascinating; since I was able to carry unconventional colors like purple, pink, blue with aplomb.
It helps too that I favour short, sassy cuts, for in comparison, long, colored hair are quite the norm.
Though my most recent color wasn’t exactly what I wanted at first (I had wanted bright blue and color BLOCKS), Han had advised that a “gradient” color of purple and blue is nicer.
I’ve always listened to my stylists (Kevin, Han, Celine) as I believed that they are more experienced and I trust them to advise the best cut/colour for me.
So purple blue gradient it is.
In support of a close friend who recently embarked on his own venture, I found myself in the unlikely neighbourhood of Cheras on a busy weekday afternoon.
It is always interesting (though more often than not, disappointing) to try out new offerings from McDonald’s Malaysia.
I mean, although I’ve always found McDonald’s food or desserts in other countries superior to what’s offered in our dear country, it is with hope that one day McDonald’s Malaysia would introduce a kick-ass product (to me).
Their latest Brazilian-inspired Rio Burger was my lunch yesterday.
Strangers at 47 is one of the few cafes in Klang Valley that I hold in high regard.
This is my 4th visit over a year and both the food and service had never given me a cause for complaint, a testament to their consistency which is something very commendable.
Upping my game from the annual Malaysian mooncakes research, I will be focusing on the mooncake varieties from the Lion City – Singapore this year!
And just for Conrad, I’ll be offering complimentary (yes, no charges) hand-carry service from SG to KL.
Just because I love Conrad that much. 🙂
Having had cemented its reputation for offering one of the best cuppa in town and as one of the pioneers of the third wave coffee movement in Singapore, Oriole had done well too with their flagship establishment at Somerset, conveniently located within a sizeable ground floor space at the Pan Pacific.
Let’s see.. what were my experiences with oysters (the eating part of course) so far?
Well, an oyster sampling affair back in 2014 (KL) proved to be an eye-opener (post HERE) for me.
Initiated by Southern Rock Seafood, KL’s current best bet for quality oysters, that session educated me about Dutch, English and Irish oysters.
That tasting was a revelation for someone who was only familiar with Australian and Canadian oysters then, besides the common buffet variety.
In December 2015 Conrad Singapore hosted us for a French oyster and champagne session. Sadly I enjoyed the champagne more than the oysters.
The Tsarskaya, Normandes and Fine de Claire were just too briny for me!
