It’s a crime to be on Kota Kinabalu’s soil & not enjoy her bountiful harvest of fresh seafood.
It is also then an expected item on our itinerary, that our sponsored familiarisation trip to KK, Sabah by Sabah Tourism Board & Firefly Airlines would include a seafood dinner.
We at Advertlets are a fun bunch. There is something to do almost every week!
Last week was the Castrol Football Crazy with Adam C and JD, and just few weeks back, 35 of us were in Mid Valley for a laser tag game.

I used to play football every Sunday back in Penang.
Damn I missed those days. Early morning at 6am, trooping onto the field behind Adventist hospital in Pulau Tikus.
It’s more or less the same gang everytime, and usually my godsis and I are the only females. Not that we were given any privileges, LOL, as the boys in the team goes all out to score against each other. But injuring any of us warrants a red card & a free meal. 😉
Back then I have never heard of futsal. Yes, it was that many years ago. I doubt I can kick a ball straight now.
All memories were revived last Saturday when I had to coordinate the Castrol Football Crazy Futsal Game with Advertlets bloggers, with popular Adam C and JD as our referees.
The both of them are the hosts for the locally produced Castrol Football Crazy (channel 812 on ESPN, every Thursday) which aims to combine football, humour & entertainment into the weekly series.
I’m not a football person, but I’m sure as hell an active sports one. But I wasn’t really in the mood to play that morning, especially since it was a work-related event. But I did managed to slot myself in during the warm up session, which warmed up our stomachs more than our limbs, as JD (from the fame of “JD and Dilly” on Red FM ) is freaking hilarious. 😉

I’m back from my “island” holiday! And would you believe it, this is my first ever island adventure in my 30 years of existence! 😉
I got Firefly Airlines to thank for this fabulous fam trip. There were so much planned out for all of us, and I’ve got a lot to share so expect a lot of posts about Sabah as I go along.
Anyhow, I’m starting the wackybecky Sabah Chronicles with this “muddy” post, simply cos I’ve got some epic pictures that I think you guys will like!

Below is the summary of my accomodation in the Iban Longhouse in the Sarawak Cultural Village during the media fam trip by Firefly (MAS) & Sarawak Tourism Board just last week.
The Sarawak Cultural Village is beautiful, scenic & rich in local culture. Located about 45 mins from Kuching town, we had a dedicated bus to shuttle us thru & fro throughout the duration of our stay.
I will elaborate more on the Sarawak Cultural Village over the next few posts as there is so much to share about that place. This post will just focus on the Iban Longhouse where my group (traditional media, artists & 3 other bloggers ) were hosted for 4D & 3N.
After a warm welcome & a lengthy briefing, we were split into 2 groups; male & female.
A typical single longhouse had separate living areas for each family & each living area generally consisted of a living room, sleeping area, kitchen & washroom.
We were placed in the Iban Longhouse, where the males has one “living area” and the females has another “living area”. The video below illustrates clearly the hygiene, space & facilities that were available to us for the duration of our stay.
I was pretty speechless upon seeing our living quarters & hence this is a silent video.LOL.
Have problem veiwing the video? Well, IT IS that dim inside and that was the best I could do. Anyhow, here are some pictures as well.
