My awesomely comfortable loyal, durable Crocs will be retiring soon. Frankly speaking, if I could still get the stock for this I would buy a few pairs and keep, wearing one after another til the rest of my life.
Seriously, it’s that comfortable. When I was travelling in Korea and Thailand, I walked everywhere for hours in them and never felt any pain at the end of the day.

Its durability is amazing; it’s good for the beach, casual outings, and I even wore it once for an amateur trekking session. Though it has a wedge (which I love as that’s added height!), it’s very steady to walk in.
It fact I loved my Crocs so much that I was a proud Crocs Malaysia Blogger Ambassador for 2010.

Super Delight Dim Sum House @ Aman Suria – really good dim sum!

For me, this is one of the better dim sum house around the area of PJ, Tropicana and Aman Suria.

Newly opened, it has amassed quite a following in its short period of business. The reason is apparent. The dim sum is tasty and it is not too expensive.

I find most, if not all (or at least for the ones I have sampled) of their dim sum really good, well prepared and wonderfully fresh.

Latest: Ayam Muhibah @ The Chicken Rice Shop – a Halal chicken rice fast-food restaurant

As a food blogger I get requests for food recommendations ALL the time.
The most common one is “where’s the best Nasi Lemak”, followed by Japanese buffet (Malaysian are obsessed with Japanese food I tell you!) and then at times, it’s chicken rice.

I’m of the personal opinion that a REALLY good chicken is few and far in between.
The usual stalls at hawker centres & food courts falls mostly under the “mediocre” level. Even famous ones like Satelite in PJ didn’t quite get my vote.

Yes I’m fussy. A good plate of chicken rice; in my humble opinion, has to be a combination of the chicken, the condiments; (the ginger and chilli sauce) and the rice. It’s incomplete if it’s just good chicken; or good chicken and decent rice but insipid chilli and soy sauce.

Every component plays a part in a plate of awesome chicken rice! 🙂 Do you agree?
And all too often we were served tough, tasteless, stringy chicken, sticky, greasy rice and watery condiments that barely has any pungency or taste.

Yes, eating chicken rice can be such a disappointing experience. I should really revved up my search for an excellent “hawker stall” chicken rice.

The launch of Grimbergen, a Belgian beer by Carlsberg Malaysia & Luen Heng

Though I’m not much of a beer drinker, I can’t help but be intrigued by the rapid changing beer-drinking landscape in Malaysia since last year.
Do you remember the days when it was just Carlsberg and Tiger as the primary choice for beer?
Now we have colourful and fascinating tasting beers from countries around the world. Last year, I was invited to a few beer-pairing dinners, which was most interesting to say the least.
Words like “wheat”, “hops” and “milling” were thrown about, with phrases like “floral” and “Hop flavor” intermingling in the conversation. My my, beer drinking is almost as sophisticated as wines!

Honda Insight New Edition 2012 – Before and Now – Pictures

On 29th February, Honda Malaysia Sdn. Bhd introduced the bolder and more futuristic looking Insight.
I got the update via email, and reading through the press release, I thought seeing the upgrades for myself at a Honda Showroom and taking some pictures to share on my post will depict the differences better.

As you would have probably realized by now, I’m a strong advocate of original content, and totally despise blogging from a press release.
Slotting in a visit to the showroom with my schedule was challenging, but worth it! The new Honda Insight certainly caught my attention. The term futuristic was aptly applied here, as it certainly looks the part.

Penang Food Fest @ Suria Café, The Saujana Hotel, KL

From 1 – 14 March, Suria Café @ The Saujana Hotel, KL is featuring a Penang street food fest with 3 Penang chefs specially flown in from the famed gourmet island itself.

Little touches such as the table setting reminiscing of the tables commonly seen at most hawkers’ joints in Penang set the mood for the evening. Or at least for me it does. I’m a Penangite, and it’s been a while since I last went home.

Utara Coffee House, Hotel Armada, PJ – Hainanese Heavenlicious

When I hopped in for the Valentine Day’s buffet at Armada Hotel earlier this month, I got acquainted with Executive Chef Chew Teik Chye, whose Hainanese roots has inculcated him with the coveted skills and knowledge of whipping up authentic Hainanese cuisine.

Now, there’s no way I’ll pass up any chance of tasting authentic cuisine, be it Asian, Western or Middle Eastern. And we all know how too often we were mislead by tantalizing advertisements of “authentic” Nyonya, Hainanese,  Cristang cuisine, all of which are fast becoming lost art, and hence its popularity. Willy businessman capitalise on this void, and we consumers unknowingly paid hard earned cash for meals that may or may not as advertised.
