Here’s a quick post as I prepare the next day-to-day chronicles of my Japan trip!
For day 3 I went to Odaiba, a popular shopping and entertainment district on a man made island in Tokyo Bay. There’s simply too many pictures and words to share so I should have it done by later today.
Now if you don’t already know, though I’m not a Mcdonalds’ fan, during my travels I make it a point to check out the fast-food joints in the country just to sample anything different that they may have. More often than not, McDonalds (or other fast food joint for that matter) would have bacon and pork on their menu and some rather interesting local twist to its burgers. For example, my Halloween Burger in Burger King has Kabocha (Japanese pumpkin) which is probably something that we will never get here in Malaysia.
In Japan, I wasn’t very interested to sample the Mcdonalds as the menu looked rather boring. There’s the usual teriyaki, ebi (shrimp ) burgers and a normal looking pork hamburger.
In continuation from my last post, and since it was getting a bit too long for me myself to stroll; here goes the ending part of it!
One thing about Tokyo desserts (other than expensive) is that they are so well made. Japan confectioneries has a great blend of Japanese, European, Chinese, and American influences and Japanese being Japanese; all done to perfection.
BELOW: Chestnuts are in season now and everyday I see chestnut cream tarts, chestnuts cookies, chestnuts cakes and chestnut mochi!
The 2nd day started off slow and relaxed.
Well, not exactly relaxed as I was editing pictures, blogging and jotting down my experiences as each day passed by. My hostel is wonderful; ample room space, large common lounge, clean big shared washrooms and so comfortable to just sit in the common area and talk to the people and get some online work done.
I had a simple breakfast of bread and even took a nap at 1pm. I set out to explore a bit at the Sensoji Temple area which is like 2 streets away from my hostel. I have seen it before yesterday with Thomas but didn’t take a picture of myself at the lantern so today I did! 🙂
The problem with traveling alone – shaky pictures taken by random strangers. Ah well.

Always in search of the exotic and funky stuffs to eat, how could I not eat fugu (puffer fish) since I’m in Japan now?? 🙂

I have just completed my post about my first day in Japan. Moving on, as I prepare my 2nd day’s posting I realized just this ramen alone warrants a dedicated blog post.
Ichiran is a famous ramen chain in Tokyo. It is 24 hours (yes 24 hours ramen slurping goodness!) and its unconventional dining ways (or maybe unconventional just to us Malaysians) is something that I want to share here. 🙂
First of all, the shop that I dined in was just at Ueno Station (still in Tokyo Japan) itself. I remember just walking out of the station (not sure which exit) and here it is!
The queue was long even though it was way pass dinner time.
The queue was not just to wait for a seat. It was to first order via a machine and pay.

I’m slowly but surely getting to post about my Japan trip. I’m still in Japan, though the Tokyo part is over. I’m now in Osaka; where everything is CHEAPER and I’ll be exploring the Kansai area over the next few days. But here goes, a day by day chronicle of my Japan adventure. Enjoy! 🙂
On the 1st day in Japan, I spent the night at the airport. More of that will be in another blogpost. Spending a night at the airport is an adventure itself! 🙂

Konichiwa from Japan! How are you celebrating Halloween? As you know might know, I’m in Japan currently.
Halloween is a big thing in Japan. I was in Tokyo since 25th Oct and from pastry shops to Burger King and kiosks at the subway stations there are Halloween inspired merchandise on sale. The pastry and cakes shops here displays really cute cakes, cookies, puddings, tarts and confectioneries with pumpkin designs.
