FINAL : Big Hug Burger – SS15, Subang – The comments

In continuation to my previous post on our meeting with the owner of Big Hug Burger Aidelle, this post serves to “explain” the comments on my FIRST post about Big Hug Burger.

Here goes.

My points are:
1. Those fans of Big Hug are not real.
No, I’m not saying Big Hug doesn’t have fans, but these ones are merely trouble-makers. True fans would feel slighted and even make defensive remarks, but I doubt they will resort to name-calling and insults. I’m sure Aidelle herself would not have condoned such actions.

2. I do not know how my post got Renyi or myburgerlab involved, considering that I haven’t even mention myburgerlab once within the post. But since it’s widely known that I’m a fan of mBL, I assume these “trolls” decided to attack mBL using mBL as comparison.
But since we know that all these “I used to work for you before“, “I heard from my friend Renyi is XXXX” and all the other “enemies” of mBL are actually commenting from the same IP address, do you think it’s credible after all?
I know 1 IP address doesn’t mean 1 person, it could be many sharing a network.
Then again, ask yourself. 6- 8 people using the same IP are all mBL haters? All ex staff? Some commenting within minutes of each other? Like seriously? Are they having burgers and taking turns to comment or what? Bloody troll picnic there huh?

I can tell you that 2 June 2013 – 7 commentators as below came from 175.142.131.198 . Based on their comments HERE, how likely are they all in the same shop/house/company sharing a network? And on a SUNDAY?

2. boy – [email protected]
3. terrence –[email protected]
4. selvester – [email protected]
5. isobel – [email protected]
6. zian – [email protected]
7. jojo –[email protected]

3. For those who had read my post and are like Desmond who actually believed that these commentators are real individuals and was concerned over “our youth”, I hope you find the screenshots below sufficient to lay your fears to rest.

Since there were so many comments, I won’t be showing you each and every one of them, but I have screenshot a few to prove my point.

For my 3rd visit, I went with Kevin (who went earlier), Rainier and KC.  Rainier, myself and KC commented on my blog using Big Hug WIFI.

I ran 2 IP checks, one on www.whatismyip.org and another on http://ip-lookup.net/.
Both gave me the IP: 175.143.56.113

Big Hug Burger – Subang : 3rd visit and my verdict…..

REMAINS.

I get it. A lot of you adore Big Hug burgers. And I totally respect that.
I have stated what I didn’t like about the burgers in my first post and I had mentioned that I would go back to try it again. I had not planned for it to be so soon as I believe the kitchen would require time to come up with new recipes or tweaks if any, but with the whole thing blowing out of proportion (as you can see from the comments here) and having the owner Aidelle Pang graciously inviting me via my FB page to her outlet again, it’s only right that I step in to dine ASAP at Big Hug Burger.

My week was packed with events and reviews so I wasn’t available on that Friday which she had extended the invitation. I went on Monday instead, canceling a food review at a hotel since there are no other nights that I’ll be available.

******* THE VISIT *******

For consistency I went with the same people that had accompanied me during my 1st and 2nd visit. I also had Rainier along, a chef working in Singapore and experienced in the hot kitchen of Cilantro, Jaan, Robuchon (just to name a few) as he’s in town for a break.
Later in the evening my adopted big brother dropped in, curious with all the hoohaa and also a well-traveled foodie. All in all, we were a little party of foodies ready to eat some burgers! 🙂

Burgertory SS15 Subang – bigger & thicker patties, improved buns and some new items

I remember going to Burgertory for 5-6 evenings in a row when they first opened.
I went with different friends each night, and ate my way through everything on the menu. And yes, I paid for every single one of my burgers. I have only posted once though, telling myself to post all the burgers at the end of my eating spree but eventually I got distracted by another new burger joint, then another, and another.

But the pork burgers at Burgertory did leave an impression, and when my Penang friends were in town last week, it was Burgertory for their welcome dinner! 🙂

Burgers at &Made by Bruno Menard, Singapore

All this burger businesses. And the competition. And the ongoing inventiveness of some burger joints.

All in all, as a mere consumer, I’m grinning like a Cheshire cat, happy that my burger fixes is no longer confined to expensive gourmet burgers ( the ones above RM25++ in some F & B outlets which only offers one or two options on the menu), Carls’ Jr (my default choice for the fast food category since we do not have MOS here) or the occasional burger run in Singapore and Thailand for yes, MOS Burgers.

That’s me. Give me a good burger and I’m a happy girl! 😀

Big Hug Burger @ SS15 Subang Square – what’s so good about it?

Onions imported from the Netherlands, fresh greens from an organic farm, 100% Australian beef, house baked buns, sauces made from scratch and food only cooked by professional chefs, not part timers.
All that and all I got was a bad taste in my mouth after visiting twice and eating a total of 7 burgers, even repeating their signature Big Hug Burger and Marios’ since I couldn’t fathom why I wasn’t the slightest bit impressed with it after my initial visit.

** The professional chefs remark was from their FB page – posted on 24th May 2013.
By the way I’m in support of the fair remarks made by How Kam Hing and Ong Wei Juin. 🙂
