Over the weekend locals and foreigners thronged the latest shopping mall in Melaka, The SHORE Shopping Gallery. The launch event treated guests of the mall with an aerobatic lion dance, lucky draws, fashion show and some speeches by the who-&-who of Melaka.
If there is any resort that I’ll gladly return to again and again, it would be the Gaya Island Resort.
For Luxperience 2014, delegates, media and exhibitors were hosted in a number of hotels within the area of Sydney Harbour.
I was in the Four Seasons, and this marks my first stay in any Four Seasons hotel.
My time in Sydney was short and long at the same time.
The main purpose was Luxperience, which basically means hours in the exhibition “working” and attending one networking lunch/dinner after another.
I loved it; for the opportunity was an amazing one, and I had much fun exploring the booths, meeting new people & learning about the world’s exclusive and luxury travel market.
It was a very eye-opening experience as I never knew how luxury can get when it is truly LUXURY.
If you think your average 5 – 6 stars hotels are luxury, you have no idea just what you HAVE NOT seen.
Thanks to the Luxperience team, I was the sole Malaysian online media to attend and witness first-hand the amplitude and impressive occasion that is the Luxperience 2014 few months back in Sydney.
For all that I shun sugar, I love my pastries and cakes.
And my Chinese sweet soups (tong shui).
I have never really liked English pastries; the flaky layers of butter never agree with me somehow. But the flaky crust of tau sar pneah gets to me every time.
I just love it. As long as it is not overly greasy of course.
My ideal tau sar pneah would be one with “dry” (meaning non-greasy), crispy crust, and lightly sweeten soft, fine mung bean paste.
Addition of shallots does impart fragrant, but not imperative.
I’ve blogged about a few of my favourites and Tong Huat’s in Kluang is seriously one of the better ones I’ve tried.
For Penang, I prefer Ghee Hiang over Him Hiang.
For Ipoh, Guan Heong Biscuit Shop‘s tambun biscuits are definitely worth buying.
For Teluk Intan, I’ve tried the famous Tiger & Yee Thye ones, both not bad, but I still prefer Guan Heong’s.Â
