As expected there are more and more bakeries making these salted egg yolk croissants now. The poor imitation by The Bread Shop failed miserably (based on from various feedback from personal friends) and as I peered at these salted egg yolk croissants from Bake Plan SS2, I must say the appearance belies the taste.
Finally.
Another bakery has made the famed salted egg yolk croissant.
The Bread Shop had begin sales of these croissant since last Saturday (5th December 2015). As of Thursday, 10th December, it has recorded positive sales since, having sold out their stock everyday.
While we are on the same “egg-citing” subject of salted egg yolks, I came up with some ideas of possibly tasty creations that made use of salted egg yolks.
Someone I know is competent on the art of making ice cream so I asked if he/she would be keen to take up the challenge of making a salted egg yolk version and test the market.

This morning I had to queue for the (now) famous molten salted egg yolk croissant.
Like everyone else, I got there early at 9:15 am to buy the first batch out for the day.
