It would be great to see him in action again after 5 years.

What better way is there to spend your lazy Sunday afternoon than to indulge yourself with fabulous food? As a reward yourself for the prior working week and in readiness of the week that looms ahead? I think Sunday brunches are fabulous for specifically that purpose! 🙂
I have written about Renoma Cafe Gallery’s brunch and today, here are my thoughts of the Sunday Roast in Ritz Carlton; the only Sunday Roast in the country that I know of that are of such extravagance. I visited 2 years ago and had loved it then.
Recently, there was a change in menu as well as a new chef in helm. A re-visit is in order obviously, and after my afternoon tea here recently, I stepped back in on a fine Sunday morning for a taste of the Sunday Roast.
A Sunday Roast is all about the traditional British treats; the yorkshire pudding, the roast lamb and beef, the seafood and the desserts. Now this is where this buffet shone from the others; an absolutely different treat from the usual of Japanese, hot wok, Chinese, Indian, Italian and dim sum corners.
If you’re looking for a buffet with a difference, then this is it.

I had many great dining experiences at the Ritz Carlton, notably Li Yen for the dim sum and their annual mooncake offerings. More reviews on those HERE. For 2012 the brilliant concept of offering as low as RM50++ per pax for a minimum table of 5 during the Chinese New Year celebrations was uniquely Ritz Carlton.
Unfortunately the same concept won’t be repeated this year. Instead Li Yen would be offering CNY set menus ranging from RM1388++ to RM4288++. Yes, expect to be blown away with gourmet ingredients and gastronomical preparations.
One such dish would be the Braised Pork Trotter with Dried Oysters and Sea Moss. Oh my god, I was so sick of the usual braised seafood with broccoli versions that any variation was most welcomed. And the fact that it has a pork trotter in its midst was good enough to edge out all other similar prepations.
Much has been written about the afternoon tea at the Ritz Carlton. The concept of the British High Tea should not be new to all of us by now. AÂ tradition of British aristrocrats (high society so to speak), it refers to tea time with a selection of bite-sized savoury and sweet items, the usual being classic buttery scones with clotted cream, jams as well as cucumber cream cheese or salmon sandwiches.
And of course, let’s not forget the tea.

Would you believe it if I told you I slept from 8pm to 530am this morning?? Yes yes, I did. The house moving last week totally drained me!
Hence, I could do with a weekend away from the mess that is my new home now. Boxes unpacked, dust everywhere still and the washing machine is not working yet!
AÂ night’s stay in an Executive Deluxe Room at the Ritz-Carlton, Kuala Lumpur, inclusive of breakfast for two in Cesar’s would be ideal now. Ahhh… one can dream yes?
A thoroughly brilliant concept was launched at the Ritz Carlton KL for Chinese New Year this 2012.
And deservingly, it was launched with much aplomb, featuring a full lion dance performance followed by an imperial spread by Ritz’s accomplished banquent team.
As usual, preceding the festive seasons, I have commenced my rounds of Chinese New Year menu reviews as early as last month. I’m certain I have much prosperity coming in, since I have “lou sang” god knows how many times. Hahah.. 🙂

I had the privilege to dine with Steve Cokkinias, the GM of Ritz Carlton KL for my first ever Thanksgiving Dinner this year. The set up at the dining room was surreally real, thanks to Steve who wanted us all to truly experience Thanksgiving, just like how it was back in his younger days in his home country.

The Mid-Autumn or Mooncake Festival is just around the corner. It is one of the most celebrated Chinese festivals & is held each year on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month. It is a time of celebration with family, prayers, mooncakes & lantern parades.
For me, I cared little for the lanterns & prayers. It’s the time of the year for me to gorge on mooncakes!!
Not a very traditionalist at heart, this year is a very good year for me as there are so so many funky combinations of mooncakes flavours available!
