It saddens me that I missed so many Ramadan reviews this year. Almost 20 invites declined, and thus at one point I could sent some friends to attend on my behalf.
The quality of write up and images are obviously different from mine, such as this one. So don’t be surprised! 🙂

Sunway Putra Hotel Kuala Lumpur provided a taste of what’s to come in their Ramadan menu last May 27th at the newly renovated Coffee House.
Guests were able to delight in the impressive selection of nostalgic buka puasa dishes from 10 food stalls and 5 buffet displays.
The occasion also introduced the five core master chefs of the hotel’s kitchen spearheaded by the hotel’s Executive Chef and Deputy President of Chef Association of Malaysia, Chef Rossham Rosli.

Westin KL welcomed a new Executive Chef about a year ago and I just got to meet him last month.

At that time, Chef Michael Andreas Gremer wasn’t on board yet.
This month, I stepped in again; already familiar with Living Room’s buffet concept but eager to witness any potential changes.
While I’m assured that the selection is vast, for Living Room at Westin KL is renowned for its mind-boggling spread, a new chef would bring about new ideas right?

Nook is vibrant. Nook is pretty. Nook is contemporary chic.

As much as I enjoy the interior, the natural light, the efficient and warm service, the buffet spread left much to be desired at times.

This is a personal take of course, for I’m sure Nook’s buffet commands its own league of fans.
My conclusion was made based on numerous dining occasions at the buffet over the past year; and mostly during media events.

One of my favourite venues for buffets in Klang Valley; Essence in Sheraton Imperial recently showcased their 2015 Ramadan spread.
I just got back from Bali and SG, and was certainly in the mood for a smorgasbord of Malaysian delights.

Berbuka Puasa in KL – Ramadan Buffet by Ramada Plaza Dua Sentral

What I have always liked about Kembali Kitchen, Ramada Plaza Dua Sentral is the brightly lit and contemporary setting space.
Though in the heart of Brickfields, it is located slightly off the busy Little India area, and due to its location, one would be quick to dismiss it as another business hotel, with a small gym and even smaller pool and tight corridors.

That wasn’t the case here though, for within this building, a beautiful big pool, spacious meeting space and a gym overlooking the KLCC towers made it almost a relaxation accomodation, setting it apart from the usual city hotels.
