I was hosted for a tea session to enjoy the newly launched items by Din Tai Fung today.
Since it has been some time since I last stepped into Din Tai Fung, I was eager to sample the new items as well as to get myself reacquainted with their popular xiao long bao.
An F & B outlet barely 2 weeks in operations, Fork D World Bistro caught our attention because it is an outlet that honor bacon in almost everything on the menu.
Yes, it is very NON-HALAL.
I believe only a few places offer pork with nasi lemak.
I had one at 6 to 10 Grill & Nasi Lemak (Aman Suria) some time back. I remembered there was one too at Ribs at Oasis (BU) but they had discontinued their nasi lemak since.
Ann’s Nasi Lemak at Imbi Market (link HERE) does not offer pork meat but only pork skin.
Brilliant Nasi Lemak at Uptown Damansara serves theirs with pork rendang.
I had visited twice since last month for my nasi lemak fix and I found it above average taste-wise but truly value for money price-wise!
The pork rendang is tasty, the sambal sweetish ( I prefer mine spicy), the anchovies and peanuts fresh but unfortunately the rice was almost bland.
Lastly, although the fried chicken wasn’t as tasty as Ali, Muthu or Ah Hock or Village Park I didn’t mind for the meat was tender and moist.

Other meal options at Brilliant Nasi Lemak besides well, nasi lemak are wan tan mee, curry noodles, herbal chicken noodles, fish head noodles, chicken hor fun, chicken rice, various snacks and desserts.
Just like a typical kopitiam, snacks like kaya and butter toast, coffee, and eggs are available and most are acceptable in price, portion and taste.
The waffle craze may be getting be getting a bit out of hand.
Waffle specialty shops are popping up too fast for me to even track, and I’ll be very fat if I were to just sample one from each shop.
However, combine waffles with pork and I’ll make an exception. A very exceptional exception, like coming out from my comfortable home on New Year’s day and stuffing my face with it.

4 years.
4 years in operation and the team had maintained the quality and the price.
I have been back 2-3 times since then and the pork burger, God bless the owner, is still as good.
I have been scouting around for good brunch venues to recommend on my blog; preferably somewhere out of the usual congested areas like Uptown Damansara, Bangsar and Hartamas/Publika.
Somewhere cosy yet still bearing the postcodes of PJ/KL.
