My first ibis experience as in Amsterdam (18th to 20th May 2012) where I stayed in Ibis Hotel near Amsterdam Airport.
I remembered it to be small but cosy and they had an efficient check-in kiosk which I took an immediate liking to.
The breakfast was great (a lot of breads, cheeses and European pastries!) and the hotel gym is pretty equipped.
Awaken from my slumber as early as 4.30am (Gold Coast time) I would open the balcony doors of my 22nd floor and gaze out to the beach.
The wind carries the sounds of waves and the scent of the sea right where to where I am, heavy-lidded and languorous on my Sofitel MyBed, contemplating my next move.
Back to sleep? Some writing? Check my emails? Change and head out to the beach?
Gosh, choices, choices, choices.
After a night stay at Novotel Hong Kong, Nathan Road Kowloon, we were shuttled over to Novotel Century, Hong Kong for Day 2 of the Hong Kong es-capers race.

I took out my stuffs from my luggage (yes I don’t unpack much, I have a travel set of everything, blame it on the frequent travels I do) last week since I’m packing for the cold, with Korea and Japan at 16-25 celcius. As I dug out Hong Kong instant noodles, HK dollars and maps memories came flooding back.
Oh, the craziness of the Hong Kong es-capers Scavenger Hunt by Accor Hotels! Fun, adrenaline packed and an experience like no other!
As announced on my Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and Facebook page, I was in Hong Kong for the 1st ever #EsCapersHK scavenger hunt. And the best news is, we (myself and Joyce) are the winning team, bagging the first prize in the race with media representatives from 6 other countries – Singapore, Indonesia, Japan, China, Australia and Thailand! 🙂
