Heineken KL launch its latest campaign “Imagine” #ImagineKL showcase at Slate @ The Row. We being treated to embark on a journey of sense of taste from the beer, sight, sound and touch from the act piece displayed.

Heineken work with a diverse range of young artists from the field of fashion, motion design, film-making, sculpture, photography, graphic design and sound art to fill the space that ignite ours senses.

When first walk in I’m captured by the big sheet of plastic which wrap around two piece of clothing, namely ‘untitled’ by a local fashion designer Jeo Chia. After hearing the explanation, I feel like for every piece of clothing we wear, it send a certain message and energy to the space we occupied. and these energy somewhat tells stories of a person.

After 3 years of calling this rented property my habitat I’ve learnt a thing or 2 about home maintenance from my landlord.
He is the careful kind, the type never to call in experts (professional help) when it comes to keeping the house on its legs, for he is your man for the job.

Lights blew? He tells me exactly which bulb to buy and where. Then he comes over to replace the old with the new one.
Electric gates stuck?
He comes over, meddled with the main console and got it to work, albeit not perfectly, but I shall be thankful, for at least the gates open and close as it should.
The tap at the sink dripping? He paid a visit over the weekend with a new faucet in hand and the tools to change it.

The reason for his resourcefulness? I’m not sure to credit it as competence or merely part of his stingy nature, for I know for sure he is careful with money.

So when I spied the big ugly hole at the back of my washing machine at the laundry area, I thought I’ll give him a call, and send an image of the damage over my smartphone.

Have you tried a coffee infused with nitrogen which leaves you with a mouthfeel of beer?
Yes, that’s what the Nitro Coffee at Brewmen tasted like. In our Malaysian sweltering heat this is almost God-sent.

Kam in Your Face 2 – Joanne Kam Poh Poh!

Joanne Kam has been in the showbiz for a long long time.
In fact she’s the pioneer of women comedians and I’m regretful that I missed the Boom Boom Room days. Heck, what was I doing back then?

When Joanne announced about her Super Kam 2 show I bought tickets immediately. It marked my first experience seeing her in action on stage.
And boy was she fabulous! I laughed til I cried, gasped for air and choked on my saliva.

When Blogging Becomes a Slog – it’s WORK too you know…

This article is so so true.

As I read this I found myself nodding my head and sighing in agreement.
I have asked myself too “why” many times, and I have come to a realisation that heck, I can’t writing cos I love writing but I can’t write just cos I HAVE TO anymore.

In fact lately I’m been writing about other stuff other than eating out and food.
Because I have changed. My lifestyle has changed.

I’ve stopped attending 2-3 events each day. Because the events don’t interest me anymore. Because events nowadays are getting to be a bore.
They don’t excite, most are barely worth writing about while some invited a whole she-bang of “media”; relevant or otherwise and you wonder what are you doing there – to add into the headcount just so the event looks well-attended?

Year after year I devour my way through 15 – 20 Ramadan buffets. I’m well aware of the abundance of food and the festive air.
On the other hand, I’m just as keenly aware of its subsequent wastage.

Harum Manis Restaurant, Jakarta – Indonesian food!

This is my first time in Jakarta (I was in Solo and Bali last year) and though it was primarily a “work” trip (we are here for the Asus ZenFone launch), we are Malaysians with an insatiable stomach so food was very much a big part of our itinerary.

One of our Indonesian food affairs was at this elegant Javanese restaurant with traditional contemporary interiors. The venue cleverly accentuates the ambiance of both an elegant high-end fine restaurant and a warm comfortable Ningrat House.

Putrajaya International Book Fair (Bookerville) & MPH Best of 2013 Award Night

Putrajaya International Book Fair as this is truly a first-of-its-kind book fair in Malaysia. The fair runs from 19th-23rd of March 2014.
What visitors can expect from this fair is a theme park concept exhibition with over 60,000 square feet of space. Visitors of the fair will be transported into a magical book town called the “BOOKERVILLE”.
