Restoran Chicken Rice Porridge SEREMBAN – best pork porridge in Seremban

I’m not entirely sure why, but it seems that I eat a lot more chicken rice in Seremban than I do in KL.

Maybe it is because Seremban has 2 particularly famous chicken rice outlets; one the “Diamond Chicken Rice” and another is this one; popular for their porridge and well, the chicken.

And my good friend Kevin who is Seremban boy and had stayed in this little town all his life got me hooked to his favourite chicken rice at Continental Hotel. Many thanks to him for sharing this gem (post HERE).

For Restoran Seremban Chicken Porridge, I was only interested in the chicken of course, since I’m not a porridge fan at all.

My first visit was in September 2015 and likely my last.

The chicken rice is no doubt tasty, but with such prices, the long wait and the we-don’t-need-your-business attitude, it won’t be a place that I’ll recommend freely.

Good pork-free Nyonya food in Melaka – Bulldog Cafe

When I posted about the excellent Nyonya food served at Unicorn Cafe (link –> HERE) a few months back, many readers and friends rejoiced, for they too have been searching high and low for a restaurant that serves good Nyonya food that is fairly priced.
Based on my observations, Nyonya restaurants that serves pork on the menu are lesser in number (correct me if I’m wrong) than those who steer clear of pork for business reasons.

Besides, Nyonya food/dishes are traditionally pork based (again, correct me if I’m wrong as I’m still learning) so I figured that if the restaurant serves pork, it is potentially “more authentic“.

Anyhow the happy discovery of Unicorn Cafe had lead to demand of a similar food establishment, but one suitable for the Muslim crowd.

HotelQuickly app – when being last minute is an advantage!

The 2015 plan is to stay at one hotel in Singapore per month.

I’ve been making monthly trips to Sg since last year, and then the currency just went unfavorable from month to month so that put a halt to my future trips.

Instead of monthly, I now visit quarterly instead, keeping myself abreast with news, happenings & food trends.
Flights are pretty standard; about M200-250 for KL-SG return.
The hotels however, are a pain in the wallet.

Last month I got to know that HotelQuickly upgraded their app.

Halal food in Ipoh – Thumb’s Cafe @ Greentown, Ipoh

It was by a funny stroke of luck that we stumbled upon Thumb’s Cafe in Ipoh.
We were not in Ipoh for a food excursion. It was in fact a photography skewed trip, with a trunkload of clothes in the boot of the Volkswagen Passat, heading to north for landscape inspiration shoot.
