Verdict: Great option for PORK-FREE dim sum in Ipoh, undoubtedly better in taste than Greentown and not as expensive as Weil Hotel.

Dynasty Palace is certainly one of the better dim sum restaurants in Ipoh.
I would rate it as one of my favourites, alongside Zui Le Xuan, Chooi Yue, Lok Hin, Sun Kim Aik and Sun Kok Kee.
Best dim sum in IPOH Part 4 – Li Yuan Dim Sum – WEEKEND/SUNDAY specials
Li Yuan is sort of an spin-off from the established China Chuan Kwong (Qi Yuan) at Greentown Business Centre.
While the latter focuses on ‘Cantonese dim sum and Szechuan specialties (cue: Xiao Loong Bao, chilli oil in almost everything, Szechuan-style noodles), the former supposedly more for well, normal dim sum?
Anyhow here’s the menu (minus a page for the bao and fried items) for you to decide if a trip here is worth the ride.
Best dim sum in IPOH Part 2 – Greentown Dim Sum Cafe (HALAL)
If you are abstaining from pork, a Muslim or you are living in or a tourist in Ipoh, I would recommend Greentown Dim Sum Cafe for your dim sum fix.
If you not any of the above, then I’ll like to recommend much better dim sums in Ipoh, of which you can find the list HERE.
Meanwhile, let me go into details of our halal dim sum lunch yesterday.
For halal dim sum, Greentown Dim Sum Cafe is your best bet at the moment.
Most items are decent but hardly memorable.
Credit where it is due, none were particularly terrible either.
Best dim sum in IPOH Part 1 – Zui Le Xuan Dim Sum Restaurant
This dim sum restaurant is particularly worthy to recommend and worth the mere 10 mins drive from Ipoh centre (where Plan B is).
Prices are cheap, dim sum is fresh and their lau sar pau/salted egg yolk bun is to die for; rich grainy custard of golden elixir, full bodied and sinfully thick.
