Words can’t express how happy I was to be present at my 5th Hennessy X.O Appreciation Grows dinner in Johor.
Every Hennessy X.O Appreciation Grows dinner had showcased amazingly accomplished chefs who whipped up some of the most tantalizing meals I’ve ever had.
Every Hennessy X.O Appreciation Grows dinner had been a money-can’t-buy experience.
While in truth I personally enjoyed a few more than the others, I can’t deny that each dinner is executed with class befitting of the Moet Hennessy Diageo brand and each session still manages to surprise.
This year, Hennessy X.O Appreciation Grows returns to enthrall connoisseurs with a gastronomy experience unlike any other.
As usual I’m honoured to be part of the X.O Appreciation Grows journey; this being my 5th, and I have my expectations set for three times James Beard semi-finalist for Best Chef: Southwest and “Iron Chef Winner”, Chef Viet Pham.
His credentials are solid and judging from the video below, he seems to be a very nice chef. Oh, he’s Malaysian too (though he’s not currently based in Malaysia).
When I was told of this place called LAT’s Place in Johor, I did what anyone who is internet savvy would do, google it. There were not many results, and most links doesn’t give away much. And so I hop on the bus to Johor with a group of media from KL, all the while wondering what could be so unique about this “theme restaurant” and hoping that it’s worth the 5 hours journey.
Besides Lat’s Place, our media trip covers Hello Kitty Land as well but that was scheduled for the next day. Our dinner upon arrival was at Lat’s Place so my curiously was almost instantly satisfied.
