I was certainly looking forward to dine at Latest Recipe, Le Meridien KL again after the gastronomic escapade that I had with in the past years during Ramadan. Buffets at Latest Recipe (both lunch & dinner) are famous and for a good reason.
Thanks to Rebecca Saw who gave me the chance for another preview. Don’t you think it will be nice to have a ramadhan buka puasa feast at the most convenient location from the office or traffic jam in the heart of Kuala Lumpur?

Last year Dorsett Regency KL offered ‘buka puasa’ buffet with celebrity chef, Chef Jaafar Onn. Well, this time around, the well famed Chef Jaafar Onn who was well noted for his acting in the Malay drama ‘Cili Padi’ back in the early 90s (the one that shot him to fame) is nowhere in sight in Dorsett Regency KL.
But fret not, your friendly neighbourhood celebrity chef may not be around to entertain you with his quirks as you dine this time around, but dining in Dorsett Regency can be fun nevertheless as they will be featuring their very own in-house chefs to entertain you as you dine in style.
“Jom Berbuka Puasa Bersama Master Chef Dorsett” will definitely satisfy even the fussiest and pickiest diners with their wide selection of modern and traditional Malay dishes in the buffet.
The Dorsett Grand Subang Hotel was the very first (I think) in the Klang Valley to host their ramadan buffet preview. And due to the early period the spread was really small and thus my review would be as short as the preview! 🙂
To start things off, the usual Malay raw salads and assorted sambals were present. In addition to that, there were bread based pizzas (which was deadly spicy!) and assorted appetisers.

Thanks to Rebecca Saw, I was given a chance to attend the buffet preview in Kitchen Art Brasserie, Empire Hotel Subang. The concept is based on the street dining ambiance and thus there are 12 stalls ready to serve diners with each featuring different local cuisine that represents each state in Malaysia.
For instance, the signature dishes such as Rendang Udang Galah (also known as the Fresh Water Prawn with Spicy Turmeric Sauce) and Ekor Lembu Masak Ketumbar (better known as the Oxtail Stew with Coriander) are the highlights recommended by Chef Fazli Baharudin.
